<DV> <kroon> Is there some trick in order to get descent performance of Qt5 at 1920x1080 ? Like passing some kernel boot argument <- make sure you are using OpenGL ES and not regular OpenGL (or software rendering)
<kroon> dv, I would hope so, since I'm using a build from Yocto, but I will double check. Do you have personal experience from using imx6/Qt5 at 1920x1080 ?
<DV> briefly
<DV> I ran some benchmarks
<DV> it was running pretty well
<DV> I was able to run this smoothly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhWS_bN-T3k
<kroon> dv, I git the same app running now, and its choppy at 1920x1080...
<kroon> although, this is on a wandboard-dual, which doesnt have the same gpu as imx6quad/dual
<DV> there is a lite version
<DV> try that one
<DV> the default one is intended to be used only on PCs
<DV> lite, reduced, mobile ... its called something like that
<kroon> dv. main_lofi.qml
<kroon> aha..
<DV> right
<kroon> now that was some improvements :)

<kroon> sorry didnt mean to sound like I corrected you
<kroon> that was quite a difference
<DV> heh
<DV> be sure to try out the code editor in the imperative canvas demo
ragesoss_ is now known as ragesoss
<kroon> cool
<kroon> so the background image hurts performance that much
<kroon> using overlays, or something like that, would it be possible to have a static background image and have the gpu render stuff on top of it, without suffering ?
<DV> perhaps
<kroon> ok, will have to dig into that some more, thanks for all the info, gotta run
