<
Tenkawa>
still cant figure out these random lockups
<
hste>
Tenkawa: what do you do when it happends?
<
Tenkawa>
hste: been kinda random (sometimes high disk io sometimes just high cpu)
<
Tenkawa>
it very possibly is heat related
<
Tenkawa>
i want to mod a heatsink on here this weekend
<
Tenkawa>
it was running 81C a few minutes ago
<
hste>
do you get warnings in log about heating?
<
Tenkawa>
but i've yet to try to get sensors working
<
Tenkawa>
right now i just use
<
Tenkawa>
cat /sys/devices/virtual/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
<
hste>
do you run it often? think I heard someone had some problem when polling that temp fast
<
Tenkawa>
only occasionally
<
hste>
what kernel do u use?
<
Tenkawa>
ajay's 3.0.35 recompiled and stripped down
<
Tenkawa>
i really wish i could run something newer
<
hste>
4.1.0 or 4.0.0?
<
Tenkawa>
ack.. dont remember and i already removed the git stuff
<
Tenkawa>
any way to tell easilu?
<
Tenkawa>
er eaaily?
<
Tenkawa>
uggh easily
<
hste>
you dropped vivante and run only plain fb?

<
Tenkawa>
case in poin
<
Tenkawa>
just crashed
<
Tenkawa>
temp was around 76
<
Tenkawa>
when i checked last
<
hste>
u run just plain fb without the vivante compiled in?
<
Tenkawa>
i dont think i even have the fb compiled in
<
Tenkawa>
(checking)
<
Tenkawa>
thats part of my debug problem
<
Tenkawa>
yep, no vivant or fb
<
Tenkawa>
which fb do i need to re-add to at least get a generic hdmi console?
<
hste>
you could set fb, it doesnt use much mem with low res
<
Tenkawa>
i'll recompile the kernel with it back in
<
Tenkawa>
that way at least i can see the panic if i try to make it crapsh
<
hste>
you should set the video in bootparam shouldnt use so much mem if you choose a low resolution
<
Tenkawa>
i still need to put the fb back in heheh at all
<
hste>
I use this video=mxcfb0:dev=hdmi,1920x1080M@60,if=RGB24 but a 720P resolution shouldn't use that much mem
<
Tenkawa>
recompiling
<
Tenkawa>
yikes.. at 85C
<
Tenkawa>
really got to get a heatsink
<
Tenkawa>
wow had it up to 89 for a sec
<
Tenkawa>
ok.. bbiaf.. rebooting to new kernel
