<bonedaddyDiscor4 "it's much easier to hole punch t"> Sadly im having trouble with residential modem as well. I tried connecting/ping my 3 other friends and it would "io/timeout" or "connection refused"
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
Well it's well know IPFS has huge troubles with NAT hole punching nothing much that can be done right now except wait for improvements
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
You can try the auto/circuit relay system
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
If NAT doesn't work that is your best option. If both of those work, fo lack of a better word you're shit out of luck
<nickdex[m]>
Yeah I got to know about it last night, gonna try it next
<nickdex[m]>
<bonedaddyDiscor4 "If NAT doesn't work that is your"> 😅
<bonedaddyDiscor4>
Alternatively you could do something like using nebula to create an overlay network between a system with a public IP address and then use a reverse proxy on the server with a public IP to forward all traffic to your node behind NAT
<nickdex[m]>
<bonedaddyDiscor4 "Alternatively you could do somet"> Hmm okay, will look into nebula

<aLeSD>
hi all
<aLeSD>
I reached a configuration that seems to work: ipfs.io is able to discover my content but a local node last to much
<aLeSD>
actually all the public gateway are very quick in getting the content of my k8s node
<aLeSD>
But if I run another node it is very very slow ... the only way to fix it is to add a swarm connection to the k8s node manually
<aLeSD>
any clue on why ?
<aLeSD>
another one. I will have a group of node that will share the same content with only one allowed to create content. Is it an use case for ipfs-could? I am a bit worried in adding another layer of abstraction without understanding what's going on

I think that is my environment

but should ipfs do it by itself ... what I need to configure ?

Does anyone know anything about the state of protocol-level encryption in IPFS? It seems like there was a bunch of discussion on it a while ago, but I can't find any issues that have been touched recently, nor find anything particular that it seems to be blocking on. Is it just labor?

protocol level encryption?
ylp has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<Alch_Emi>
Yeah, like encryption for any data you put in IPFS, or just private files in general
<Alch_Emi>
Like, I know you can encrypt stuff before you put it in IPFS, ofc, but there were several drafts for making ipfs have encryption itself
