<nickotheus> "BT should work from 5.3 onwards as the device ID’s have been submitted." It's been my experience this is not the case.
<nickotheus> "WiFi is not supported in mainline" why is this?

<xdarklight> nickotheus: what is "Linux 5.3" for you on the current day? Linus' git repo? today's linux-next tree?
<nickotheus> xdarklight, anything that works I suppose
<xdarklight> nickotheus: for me there's no Linux 5.3 yet, because there's no -rc1 yet. that means: the feature set is not finalized yet. closest to that is probably linux-next - are you trying that?
<nickotheus> xdarklight, no, I was just quoting chewitt from https://forum.khadas.com/t/manjaro-arm-for-the-vim3/4664 yet mainline is claimed on Khada's https://www.khadas.com/vim page; guess that means without wifi
<xdarklight> nickotheus: ok, when you say in your experience "BT is not working with 5.3" then what is Linux 5.3 for you / which version have you tried?
<nickotheus> xdarklight, I said "mainline" not 5.3 persay I tried from this image: (5.0.2) https://forum.khadas.com/t/manjaro-linux-desktop-environment-for-kvim1/3945/4
<nickotheus> BT was a quote, I was just saying that BT wasn't even working for me in 5.0.2, so didn't see how it could in 5.3
<nickotheus> also AFAIK 5.3 may be for VIM3 and not VIM2
<xdarklight> nickotheus: I see. as far as I can tell this is the commit which adds Bluetooth support in "mainline": https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/drivers/bluetooth/btbcm.c?id=f4d297eec673097ad5c1a971db7ea8f9b6e5fa2e - the first Linux kernel which ships that commit will be Linux 5.3-rc1, so anything older that will probably result in non-working wifi (unless someone does additional work by backporting that
<xdarklight> commit)
<xdarklight> sorry, I mean "non-working Bluetooth"
