<wildea01> Does anybody know if it's possible to use u-boot's EFI emulation to run the debian installer on a le-potato (s905x) board? So far, I haven't managed to install a distro that is able to upgrade the kernel as part of the usual package upgrades.

<xdarklight> wildea01: I'm using mainline u-boot on a Khadas VIM (also with a S905X SoC) with Arch Linux ARM. my boot.scr loads the kernel image and the .dtb and passed both to u-boots "bootefi". works fine for me

<wildea01> xdarklight: Interesting, I haven't looked at arch. Does that handle kernel security updates for you?
<xdarklight> wildea01: that board is used in my office so it's booted in the morning and shut down in the evening. any kernel update that is installed during the day is then booted the next morning
<xdarklight> I don't know what the typical delay between "kernel patch is released" and "Arch Linux ARM package is ready" is though
