<xdarklight>
when I run kmscube or glmark2-es-drm I get a mode_set event which requests switching to 720x576i
<xdarklight>
then I drop all CVBS stuff from the board.dts (that's the only thing I modify) and then it doesn't magically want to switch to 720x576i anymore - instead it just keeps at the resolution set during boot (1920x1200 for my monitor)

xdarklight narmstrong I have two video output problems
<chewitt>
first, a user report in our forums from the 512MB version of LaFrite where the user has no output at all
<chewitt>
second, I did some c/p to create mainline u-boot support for WeTek Hub/Play2 (both S905)
<chewitt>
the 1GB Hub boots fine until Kodi starts, then loses HDMI output
<chewitt>
the 2GB Play2 has no issues, works really well
<chewitt>
I doctored device-tree to remove the CVBS nodes from Hub (as it only has HDMI output) but no difference
<chewitt>
no issues when using bsp u-boot on the device

martin's description about kmscube .. sounds kind of similar

xdarklight: yes, kmscube mode select is buggy, it select the first connnected connector, without finding if a connector is already connected to a crtc
<narmstrong>
chewitt: ask the monitor type, lafrite doesn't support 4k, I need to push a fix upstream to disable 4k on S805X
<chewitt>
question asked..
<xdarklight>
narmstrong: ah, I see. what is your testing process then (do you run wayland/X)?
<narmstrong>
xdarklight: X and wayland selects HDMI correctly
<narmstrong>
usually I disable cvbs when I need to have exclusive HDMI
<narmstrong>
xdarklight: in the latest kmscube you can specify the video mode
<narmstrong>
this could help
<xdarklight>
narmstrong: I already have the latest kmscube and when I specify the video mode it says that it's unsupported. turns out that it uses the CVBS connector to check if 1920x1200 is supported (obviously it doesn't)
<xdarklight>
it's a good excuse to play with wayland/weston - thanks :)
<narmstrong>
xdarklight: did you push all your hacks on the your integration tree ?
<xdarklight>
yep. I was able to sort out most related to the meson DRM driver (the big TODO that's left is video clocks)
<xdarklight>
it should(tm) work on Odroid-C1 for you if you run "video dev open 1080P" in u-boot before you boot Linux
