<kettenis> narmstrong: I tried that hc4-pcie branch on my odroid-hc4, but it hangs at
<kettenis> Net:
<narmstrong> kettenis: thx, doesn’t seem really hc4 related, I’ll check on my c4
<kettenis> I may investigate a bit further myself tonight

<kettenis> weird, it does eventually continue booting, but it takes a very long time (at least 30 minutes)
<narmstrong> kettenis: weird
<chewitt> I didn't try yet, but I did pick all the recent changes into a branch earlier to have a play with :)
<narmstrong> I refreshed the branch with the reset fix

<kettenis> narmstrong: 1f636d8cb1e313f51ecc0ee75838fc1018c00755 is the first bad commit
<narmstrong> kettenis: hmmm weird. It works on vim3 which should have the same setup
<narmstrong> kettenis: thanks for bissecting !
<chewitt> i'm testing a hunch

<chewitt> yup, drop the ethmac& node from arch/arm/dts/meson-sm1-odroid-hc4-u-boot.dtsi and it boots
<chewitt> dmesg from linux http://ix.io/2WKX
<chewitt> all looks fine
<kettenis> confirmed
<chewitt> all is not fine tho
<chewitt> when I reboot, it ends up cycling
<chewitt> sdio read data fail
<chewitt> reset...
<chewitt> then back to SM1:BL:511f6b:81ca2f;
<chewitt> I also noticed that when booted, the IR remote doesn't work
<chewitt> cold boot works, but warm (re)boot does not
ballerburg9005 has joined #linux-amlogic
<chewitt> now the remote works .. odd
<kettenis> reboot works for me but for some reason OpenBSD doesn't see the sd controller, so it doesn't touch it
<kettenis> booting from a sata disk works, but some tweaks will be needed to make that automatic
<kettenis> oh, that reminds me, I have to change the pci interrupt from level to edge triggered to make OpenBSD work
<chewitt> kettenis what FIP source are you using with u-boot?
<chewitt> i'm wondering if I need newer/updated bl301
<kettenis> odroidg12-v2015.01 branch
<kettenis> if there is a particular line with a version number you're interested in, let me know
<chewitt> from the dates I added the FIPs to https://github.com/LibreELEC/amlogic-boot-fip/tree/master/odroid-hc4 there's nothing of interest since
<chewitt> time for Zzz .. I'll poke stuff more in the morning
<narmstrong> Thx both for testing
<narmstrong> kettenis: you had to run pci enum before right ?
vagrantc has joined #linux-amlogic
<kettenis> right, and scsi isn't included in the list of boot_targets
<kettenis> and I need to rin scsi scan as well
<kettenis> narmstrong: shall you a diff for the distroboot bits that are needed?
<kettenis> shall I mail you a diff I mean
<narmstrong> kettenis: if you can, sure it would help !
<kettenis> sent
<kettenis> and thanks for working on this; it is nice to have the HC4 boot from SATA
<narmstrong> You’re welcome, thanks for testing !
