si1v3r: although the upstream exynos_defconfig got a major update for 3.17 on commit fc3791f ("ARM: exynos_defconfig: Update exynos_defconfig")
<javier__>
si1v3r: related to the dts, it depends on what you meant by "all chromebooks", DTS for Spring for example has been posted but didn't land yet
<javier__>
si1v3r: for peach pit/pi there are some support in 3.16 but comparing with 3.17 is missing support for at least the cros_ec tunnel and everything that is behind that (keyboard, tps65090, charger and battery)
<sjoerd>
don't forget the displays
<javier__>
sjoerd: yes, I meant DTS changes that already were picked and will be pushed for 3.17
<javier__>
sjoerd: DTS changes for displays will probably make it for 3.18
<sjoerd>
nod

Sorry, I'm using snow, really the only one I care about at present but that will probably change soon.
<si1v3r>
So I guess my real question is now that 3.16 is out, are samsung chromebook snow users waiting for any more hardware support, or are we good to go?
MrBIOS has joined #linux-exynos
<Swabbles>
si1v3r: from what I have seen 3.16 is in a decent shape to run on Snow, but I haven't been able to get the kernel to boot yet.
<Swabbles>
Then again, that was when the first release candidate was out.
<Swabbles>
I am not sure about the DTS, I have mostly looked at the driver changes (e.g. DRM bridges, audio, etc.).
<Swabbles>
And from what I have seen there, most drivers should be present now (including both the DRM bridge and audio).
<si1v3r>
what sort of issues have you had with booting 3.16? I have it working with the simplefb nv-uboot and the make uImage envvar LOADADDR=0x40008000
