<PabloPL> is here anyone familiar with powervr on exynos ?

<Wizzup> PabloPL: you forward porting the powervr driver?
<Wizzup> s/porting/ported/
<PabloPL> Wizzup: got it building and running under 5.0
<PabloPL> Wizzup: running = probing
<Wizzup> all my experience with powervr comes from omap and more specifically making it work on n900 with maemo leste
<Wizzup> but ti has various userspace drops that you might want to look at
<Wizzup> https://github.com/TexasInstruments/dri3wsegl this might also be relevant
<Wizzup> you'll still need closed userspace libs
<PabloPL> Wizzup: but i don't have userspace binaries for linux (only those from android), which would init it more
<PabloPL> Wizzup: I saw libraries from omap, but those were not for sgx540 :/
<PabloPL> Wizzup: Tried libhybris?
<Wizzup> not planning to use libhybris
<Wizzup> here are some notes on making it work on droid4 (which we haven't actually tried/done yet) https://leste.maemo.org/Motorola_Droid_4/PowerVR
<PabloPL> Wizzup: I wonder if using it, we could load libraries and binaries from android on linux (just for gpu) + driver "running" on mainline
<Wizzup> but it's also sgx540
<PabloPL> # cat /proc/pvr/version
<PabloPL> Version CustomerGoogle_Android_ogles1_ogles2_GPL sgxddk 18
<PabloPL> 1.8.GOOGLENEXUS.ED945322@2112805 (release) smdkc110_android
<PabloPL> System Version String: None
<PabloPL> currently
<PabloPL> but don't know if driver ever tried to talk to hw :(. will try to look at this more (just got it to build and probe without errors)
<Wizzup> ok, in #maemo-leste there are also people working with powervr driver, but for omap
<Wizzup> what device do you have that has powervr + exynos?
<PabloPL> Samsung Galaxy S (i9000), based on s5pv210 (one core, older than exynos4)
<Wizzup> interesting, what do plan to run on it?
<PabloPL> it's already running mainline kernel on it, with ubuntu 18.04
<PabloPL> i've created and submited device tree support for it
<Wizzup> if you're interested, check out maemo leste as possible mobile os for it :)
<Wizzup> cool!
<PabloPL> https://github.com/PabloPL/linux/wiki - more or less what is supported
<PabloPL> there is event uboot for it, which allows booting from sdcard/emmc/onenand
<Wizzup> really neat work.
<PabloPL> but without any acceleration for GUI (g2d or sgx), desktop is slow
<Wizzup> we're hitting the same thing with the motorola droid 4 phone
