<sensiblemn> nerdboy: i was researching the chromebook snow recently. I saw this, which might be helpful. "By default, nv-U-Boot has a $bootdelay of 0.  You can break into U-Boot if you hold down the space bar while you're booting" https://www.chromium.org/chromium-os/firmware-porting-guide/using-nv-u-boot-on-the-samsung-arm-chromebook
<sensiblemn> i compiled some links in the Nexus 10 section here: https://redmine.replicant.us/projects/replicant/wiki/TargetsEvaluation#Android-devices
<nerdboy> yeah, i got into u-boot and set the minimal default env, but after loading kernel/dtb it went black and then back to the dev-mode screen
<nerdboy> on kernelci it shows snow booting 5.3 but they use a different u-boot plus tftp

<nerdboy> the same build/kernel/sdcard will boot veyron and nyan but not snow
<nerdboy> for reference i'm using this: https://github.com/sarnold/chromebooks
<sensiblemn> there's also this link: https://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11812
<nerdboy> i wasn't sure what to do with that, so far i only tried the google-y kpart uboots
<sensiblemn> i don't have a snow chromebook. i was just interested in it because it might be an interesting Replicant port.
<sensiblemn> or it might inform us on how to liberate the Nexus 10
<nerdboy> it's booted fine before, using one of the chrubuntu scripts and manual
<nerdboy> in fact my old kernel that i used to boot a usb hard drive is still in KERN-C on the emmc
<nerdboy> but all of those were chromeos kernels
<sensiblemn> interesting
<sensiblemn> nerdboy: if you come across any support matrix that shows what is still missing in upstream u-boot or upstream kernel for snow, please let me know.
<sensiblemn> also, please ping me if you get them running on snow.

<nerdboy> i got a kernel log (yay!) but i still got no display (boo!)
<nerdboy> at least i got the u-boot env sorted out enough to boot a new kernel
<sensiblemn> nerdboy: congrats on your progress!
