mhhhh... that weird to have blank screen until the vop is "binded" to the screen. Probably that the default brightness is too high

it seems to be the default brightness used by the backlight until it is configured later by the graphic part (it is white by default)

vagrantc: rperier did check on his speedy and it seems his emmc is working fine ... see channel log for log-links ... did you also have logs somewhere?

mmind00: oh btw, I think that the backlight should be turned off by default on veyron, until it is binded and used by something else. It would avoid the white screen with the artefacts on bootup. What do you think ?

rperier: not necessarily ... I think generally you want to keep the backlight in the state the kernel gets it from the bootloader

here I have to wait ~7s until the drm driver is loaded as a module.... so the backlight is white during 5-6s... until the kernel displays something on the screen

rperier: i.e. the bootloader might have already put some logo on the display or something and you don't want the flash ... so ideally it should stay as it was

anyone know what I'm missing to get "bad image magic" ? I've done cat zimage dtb > zimage_with_dtb; then "mkimage ..." https://github.com/rockchip-linux/build/blob/master/mkkernel#L53 and then flashed that to the boot/kernel partitions and rebooted
