<adj> alyssa, thanks for the information, that was my intention, running yuq's mesa driver and libmali (for opencl) with yuq's kernel driver
<adj> maybe a wrapper layer could be done...
<alyssa> probably not worth it to write a wrapper if yuq didn't already write one
<alyssa> besides, maybe this is motivation to get compute shaders working in yuq's stuff ;P
<adj> yes, having proper open source support for midgard and utgard is the right way, thanks for your work

<adj> alyssa, ^
* alyssa blushes
<alyssa> I don't touch utgard

<ayufan> I'm trying to get armsoc working on rk3328, but it is terribly slow
<ayufan> compared to fbturbo or fbdev or modesetting
<ayufan> do anyone know why?

<adj> anarsoul, thanks I own a lot of mali400 hardware, but I don't even use video output
<adj> I was thinking about buying a rk3399 chromebook, and wondering if I could run Leela Zero
<alyssa> adj: rk3399 has a T800-series GPU in it, not a 400-series. that's midgard (not utgard), which -is- OpenCL capable
<alyssa> although we haven't looked into compute shaders yet

<icenowy[m]> alyssa: yuq only focuses on Allwinner+Mali-400 :-)
<alyssa> icenowy[m]: good thing I focus on Rockchip+Mali-T700 ;)
<anarsoul> icenowy[m]: yuq's driver also works on rockchip + mali-t700 and number of other SoCs
<anarsoul> oops, I meant mali-t400
<anarsoul> rockchip + mali-400
<anarsoul> without T :)
