<EmilKarlson> at least on my desktop video is fast, but hdmi sound is missing
<EmilKarlson> that platform is unrelated to Rockchip, just to note that there is nothing in linux-5.3-rc1 in general

<EmilKarlson> eballetbo: do you have CONFIG_SND_SUPPORT_OLD_API, could you share .config?
<EmilKarlson> my pulse configurations are defaults at least
<EmilKarlson> I guess I could enable all and put all drivers as modules to see, if it would help
<EmilKarlson> there is cros ec audio codec
cristian_c has quit [Ping timeout: 268 seconds]
<EmilKarlson> CONFIG_SND_SUPPORT_OLD_API=y still is default at least in debian, maybe I should try it out
<eballetbo[m]> Emil Karlson: Yes, this option is set on my kernel
<eballetbo[m]> Emil Karlson: my defconfig is default arm64 defconfig + this fragment (https://github.com/eballetbo/chromebooks/blob/master/fragments/arm64/chromebooks.cfg)
<EmilKarlson> thanks
<eballetbo[m]> trying to build a mesa debian package with panfrost enabled right now, wich me good luck ;-)
<eballetbo[m]> s/which/wish/
<EmilKarlson> good luck
<wens> fyi glamor doesn't work
<wens> I tried it last week, though this time I didn't enable debugging
<EmilKarlson> if wayland get's there first, I have considered swtiching to sway
<EmilKarlson> not sure, if sway is close enough to gnome-shell to make it

<EmilKarlson> eballetbo: I needed to remove the ucm files to make pulseaudio work
<eballetbo[m]> @em
<eballetbo[m]> Emil Karlson: ooi, which ucm file was loading? or you just removed all?
<EmilKarlson> the Kevin one
<EmilKarlson> I might have copied it from chromeOs
<EmilKarlson> not sure, if debian ships any at this time
<eballetbo[m]> ah ah, that makes sense, so there is an ucm file for veyron devices that is needed but was not aware of anything for kevin
<eballetbo[m]> nice, you got audio :-)
<EmilKarlson> does volume control work for you?
<EmilKarlson> I also needed you sample rate patch, CONFIG_SND_SUPPORT_OLD_API is not neede apparently
<EmilKarlson> well needed it on linux-5.2.2
<EmilKarlson> 5.3 has it included
<EmilKarlson> hmm, it works, but the subjective feeling of it very non-linear, which technically might mean the adjustment is actually linear
<EmilKarlson> either way, there is progress

<TheCycoONE> archlinux arm has a kevin one https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/aarch64/firmware-gru/files - doesn't say where they got it.
<EmilKarlson> are you using it?
<EmilKarlson> does it work for you?

<inode> shadeslayer: i also get every modeline listed as seemingly BAD and 1920x1080 is inevitably selected, since v5.1 but i hadn't tried any prior version
<inode> but it hasn't bothered me because i would have selected 1920x1080 anyway
Greyztar has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<shadeslayer> inode: ack, I figured out my issue, it was a change I made in mesa, but that BAD modeline issue is still weird
<inode> shadeslayer: does your hotplug detection work correctly on rk3399? if you insert the hdmi cable after the kernel has started then the hdmi output is enabled?
