mmind00: ah! The Odroid Go Advance eh? Guess why I'm here ;-)
<rah>
I suspect the rk3326 might be gaining a bit more attention going forward :-)
<mmind00>
rah: it looks like the first production round is already sold out ... so I'm pretty lucky to have gotten mine ;-)
<mmind00>
but yeah, hopefully it'll be a sucess ... still waiting on panfrost support for Bifrost gpus

mmind00: what graphics driver do the existing OSes use, if not panfrost?
<rah>
do they just use a framebuffer?
<mmind00>
rah: panfrost is not a graphics driver ... just a headless gpu renderer ... so it's always a combination of the Rockchip drm/kms driver + gpu driver
<mmind00>
rah: and gpu driver in this case will be the mali kernel driver + userspace binary
<rah>
I see

robmur01: does rk817 do anything special for it to be interesting?

<robmur01>
phh: not really - although PMIC + audio codec is a slightly odd combination, and unusual things are always fun
<robmur01>
it's mostly just that I've been messing with the drivers, and I have boards with RK808 and RK805, but none of the newer fancier ones

robmur01: fair enough
<phh>
oh odroid go advance has a "forced sdcard boot" pushable button that's lovely
<phh>
(I don't understand why there is a spi flash in the first place but well)
<inode>
does that button pull the emmc clock to ground?
<robmur01>
probably (but s/emmc/SPI/ ?)
<robmur01>
ah, and presumably s/clock/chip select/ too, from skimming the schematic
<robmur01>
SPI bootloader means it can get as far as displaying the "no SD card inserted!" picture :)
<robmur01>
rather than just sitting there apparently dead
<mmind00>
now I just need to find out how to blank that spi-flash, as I want my (mainline'ish) uboot on the sd-card ;-)
<robmur01>
mmind00: ISTR from poking around the github repos that there was a neat recovery/update script somewhere; auto-install new firmware from /dev/zero?
