<FaN> Is this channel checked much?
<FaN> Or is there a best time for support?
<macc24> FaN: yes, there are people here
<apritzel> FaN: just ask, and you will see ;-)
<FaN> haha I did on saturday, but got no response, I'm still struggling to boot linux on rk3128
* robmur01 scrolls back... ttyFIQ is an Android thing, so unlikely to have any effect on Linux - the debug UART is usually ttyS2
mniip has joined #linux-rockchip
<FaN> I was given a binary image with my board, but I want to build it via buildroot. I'm packing it ok I think, just the kernel isnt booting.  I can try as linux, but rkImageMaker needs an "os_type" of which I can't seem to find options other than "androidos". let me just try ttyS2 though
<robmur01> it's been years since I last fiddled with the downstream Android "partition" scheme so I can't remember if the rootfs needs to be packed with a special header or not, but either way it's basically just a raw image of whatever filesystem you like
<FaN> yah, using squashfs for now :)

<robmur01> yeah, that's standard for a downstream kernel with Android FIQ debugger support
<FaN> so I should still put ttyS2 in my command line args?
<FaN> meh, no luck with S2 either

<FaN> I'm not really trying to do anything special, just boot linux on rk3128 and see command line via serial port.

<FaN> can anyone tell me what the load address for the uImge is supposed to be? I've put in 0x60800800, but nothing booting yet :(
<FaN> uImage*
<ukleinek> FaN: using uImage is oldstyle
<FaN> oh?
<FaN> my understanding was uboot-> uimage
<FaN> what should I be using?
<ukleinek> unless you're stuck to an old vendor U-Boot, it should be able to boot a vmlinuz
<ukleinek> IIRC
<FaN> I'm using a provided u-boot dated 2017.09
<FaN> see my debug out above :)

<FaN> i'm not misreading model numbers and the flash chip is fine. I have a working image that I was provided by a vendor, but I want to build from source.
