montjoie: I am looking for SHAXXX offloads. I would be glad to test them and report the status. Shouldn't they show in /proc/crypto once sun8i-ce is loaded on 5.5 kernel?
<grey-bit>
since the beginning of the thread was a few days ago (sorry for not following up promptly): I am running H2+ OrangePi R1 on 5.5.0-rc6 Armbian kernel.

montjoie: I am looking to offload in the kernel for deploying ipsec - having Cisco esp-sha256-hmac on the other side. I don't mind if the throughput is slightly lower as long as I get some of the cores back for my other stuff...

I've found some weirdness when reading from DRAM on A64. I can read only at avbout 17MiB/s but I can write at ~300MiB/s
<megi>
I'm doing a simple loop and writing uint32_t at a time
<megi>
the tests are done via a simple program run via FEL (something akin to U-Boot SPL)
<megi>
interesting thing is that when I enable data cache, write speed drops too to 17MiB/s
<megi>
I'm not sure why there should be any assymetry

maybe DRAM controller or CPU is misconfigured? mainline u-boot shows the same behavior

hmm, in Linux the speed is 400/500MiB/s for write/read
