<h01ger>
hello again :)
<ahou>
not a debian channel. just saying. :P
<hannes>
hahaha
<hannes>
i think i'm in the middle of a sheep flock in the middle of nowhere somewhere in morocco
* ahou
hands hannes some spare velcro gloves
* ahou
adds more velcro gloves to the packing-pile for next week
<h01ger>
ahou: have we met in person?
<ahou>
h01ger: i am not aware of that happening, but i have mega-terrible people memory.
<lobo>
hannes: not too bad, if you've got internet in the middle of nowhere :)
<ahou>
h01ger: and i am kinda old. like most / all-but-one times of me meeting hannes was 15+ years ago. and it took me months (and some hints from 3rd parties) to actualy remember him. *coughs*
<h01ger>
ahou: just wondering cause we never spoke in debian contexts, afaik
<ahou>
h01ger: i have you filed under "one of qubes prime debian persons" anyways. :)
<ahou>
h01ger: also memorable for the "how much memory does qubes need" slides. :D
<h01ger>
:)
<ahou>
h01ger: have you been using the qubes mirage vms? just fw? both? customized fw? kernel or templated? :D
<h01ger>
i recently upgraded to qubes 4.0 and have not yet re-built qubes-mirage-firewall. so i'm using the stock sys-firewall atm and plan to fix that at the upcoming mirage retreat
<ahou>
(has cut-n-paste ready commandlines at the top)
<h01ger>
ahou: in 6 days
<h01ger>
sorry, mentally busy elsewhere
<ahou>
h01ger: all well, just dont let marek hear about the "recently" part. :)
<h01ger>
ahou: if you really want me to do this, mail me. :) that works quite very well..
<h01ger>
marek knows very well :)
<h01ger>
hannes: enjoy! wish to be there already...!
<ahou>
h01ger: how long you used q3.x? but i am getting taunted for my templates? pft!
<h01ger>
hannes: & please send regards! :)
<h01ger>
ahou: go figure! (how long..)
<ahou>
h01ger: i may or may not have a fedora-25 template, a fedora-26 template in actual use (for reasons!), and a dom0 that currently has 200+ days of uptime. *coughs*
<h01ger>
impressive
<ahou>
h01ger: looking forward to a fun session next week!
<h01ger>
i never manage to have dom0 with that update, too many wireless/pci probs. but it git *a whole lot better* with qubes4
<h01ger>
ahou: indeed! it will be awesome!
<ahou>
h01ger: this is a desktop, so no suspend/resume insanities.
<h01ger>
i never managed to have dom0 with that uptime, too many wireless/pci probs. but it git *a whole lot better* with qubes4
<h01ger>
like now i had 7-14 days and wlan comes back after suspend almost always (90% or more)
<h01ger>
ahou: helps
<ahou>
h01ger: you know about the 49.7d "windows compatibility" joke?
<h01ger>
yes
<ahou>
ok.
<h01ger>
i love most that it was discovered in 2001 (that win95 had a 49 days uptime prob) - or was it even later?
<ahou>
i dont know the details on that side, but i have to chuckle every time i am going "wait, why isnt cross-vm c-n-p not working? oh. what was the filename again?"
<ahou>
so i kinda measure my dom0 uptime in multiples of 49.7d ...
<h01ger>
:)
