DocScrutinizer05: overvoltage, as far as i can tell. i think they use VBUS, boost it, then feed it into D+/D-

<DocScrutinizer05>
LOL
<wpwrak>
what makes it nasty is that this looks like a pretty harmless USB stick
<DocScrutinizer05>
silly shit simple
<wpwrak>
ideal for people who aren't quite happy in their office ....
<DocScrutinizer05>
no, I'm not worried about people connecting a mains<->USB adapter (without PSU)
<DocScrutinizer05>
I prolly should announce that LOWER might need 6 layer, since with 70 to 80% component density, there's only 30 to 20% of real estate left for groundplane or signal routing
<DocScrutinizer05>
so a 4-layer might get tough

>>DONA, Unable to deliver your item, #000983628<< F U spammers!
<DocScrutinizer05>
now for the spamming by myself:
<DocScrutinizer05>
Good afternoon.
<DocScrutinizer05>
I have a question.
<DocScrutinizer05>
I have the N900, the corpse in his arms.
<DocScrutinizer05>
SIM module and flash not active when pleased that need replacement processor and flash.
<DocScrutinizer05>
The unit itself to be loaded to work. But connected to a PC it is not real.
<DocScrutinizer05>
Your idea is very much interested.
<DocScrutinizer05>
If you please explain one thing. Do I understand that you are developing the issue is a deep modernization of the N900, with a central board replacement?
<DocScrutinizer05>
all hail to google translate ;-) But yes, if I get that right then that's exactly the purpose
<wpwrak>
neat wording :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
Russian
<wpwrak>
they're the best. usually very precise, it's just the translation that messes things up
<DocScrutinizer05>
yep
<DocScrutinizer05>
I just wish I wasn't such a washout on answering emails
<wpwrak>
wish we had someone to do just "customer support". one big problem is, though, that most such mails touch on some policy decision that would have to come from you. so it's hard to delegate.
<DocScrutinizer05>
I could do interactive (IRC) telegram answering
<DocScrutinizer05>
for this the answer is "yes" :-)
<DocScrutinizer05>
I hoped for hellekin
<wpwrak>
maybe try if you can lure him into this :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
I tried like 5 times
ashneo76 has joined #neo900
<wpwrak>
though i'm not sure he's "play by the rules" enough for this sort of task
<wpwrak>
(5 times) heh, seems that his instincts are working :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
in the end the luring is even more workload than the email answering
<DocScrutinizer05>
I can state that all efforts to reduce workload from PR resulted in doubled or tripled workload
<DocScrutinizer05>
even to the extent where we discuss new friggin tools for the website
<wpwrak>
not sure. i think we are actually more efficient on newsletters and such. it still a considerable amount of work, for everyone, but we get things done much faster than we used to
<DocScrutinizer05>
<quote Joerg> but somebody has to *feed* this!! who's going to do it?</quote>
<wpwrak>
so instead of each "monthly" newsletter implying 80% agony during two months, it's now maybe 10% agony for a couple of weeks, and even the "montly" is now much closer to 1 month than 1 year. it's not perfection, but i'd call this progress :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
when I say "last 50 lines make a nice terse newspost" and 2 days later we're discussing a 500 lines article that has many incorrect or misleading factoids, then this is an efficiency implosion
<DocScrutinizer05>
if we had that 50 lines chatr in this very channel, the productivity would have been 100 times higer
<DocScrutinizer05>
thriving for perfection is the death of productivity. Never been more true than with newsposts
<wpwrak>
i'm sure convergence will improve with time
<DocScrutinizer05>
striving?
<wpwrak>
yes, strive. thrive is something else :)
<wpwrak>
and especially contradictory when used with "the death of"
<DocScrutinizer05>
anyway, any urgent pending issues? otherwise I'd chill an hour and then go to sleep, to have acustoms day tomorrow
<wpwrak>
well, "a thriving cancer is the death of the patient" would work. sounds rather sarcastic, though.
<wpwrak>
whee, customs ! :)
<DocScrutinizer05>
yeah! :-S
<DocScrutinizer05>
rescue those 6 BB-xM
<wpwrak>
no, nothing urgent. i even found the AN about the diversity antenna. still have to read it, though
<DocScrutinizer05>
>> An Rx diversity antenna meeting these requirements would be for instance the 850/1900MHz Dual Band Diversity RX Ceramic Antenna (W3047A) from Pulse Electronics. For more infor- mation and a data sheet see www.pulseelectronics.com.<< just if we have PCB real estate for that
<DocScrutinizer05>
subject to layouer to decide ;-)
<DocScrutinizer05>
wpwrak: no Pi in the whole document
<DocScrutinizer05>
just add generic components
<DocScrutinizer05>
afzer proto_v2 we will have to do a _lot_ of decisions/optimizations that only can get done after we seen how proto_v2 performs
<DocScrutinizer05>
and how many options e.g. real estate we have
<DocScrutinizer05>
a dedicated diversity antenna would be great. If we find enough , and the right, place for it. If we can't find that place (we will know only after layout, at least I hope we'll know for sure then) then we will do whatever is feasible to get a DX antenna. And when we couldn't do even that (won't happen), we go without DX antenna and accept a LTE/UMTS bandwidth reduced by factor 2 in some worst case conditions
