jemfinch` changed the topic of #ocaml to: nob: it's not an option keyword. It's a datatype. 'a option. It can be either "None" or "Some data" -- it represents either data that's not there (None) or data that's there (Some data)

<xenwryla> hey there, peeps
<Taaus> Hello.
<xenwryla> I've got a ? about ocaml, this a good place to ask?
<Taaus> I guess it is... :)
<xenwryla> well, I'm wondering about the rapid prototyping capabilities of ocaml, specifically the ability to modify a running program as in lisp
<Taaus> Well, there's the interactive toplevel loop...
<xenwryla> but I take it finished programs will be either run from byte or native compiled code where its not possible
<Taaus> Everything is compiled.. Even in the toplevel loop (It's compiled on-the-fly).
<xenwryla> hmm
<xenwryla> do you know what I speak of in lisp?
<Taaus> Not really... I'm allergic to parentheses ;)
<xenwryla> hehe
<xenwryla> one can essentially hotpatch a running image
<Taaus> Ah.
<xenwryla> no such luck in ocaml?
<Taaus> I doubt it...
<Taaus> But I'm not an O'Caml guru :)
<xenwryla> well thanks for your time
