<elia> automationaddict, I think it's a widespread feeling here… :)
<automationaddict> elia I tried using CoffeScript but this is SOOO much better
<elia> ehehe, same here, saw the opal-node tagline?

<elia> adambeynon, you around?
<adambeynon> elia: yeaaaaaap

<elia> fine you?
<elia> adambeynon, couple proposals:
<elia> 1) https://github.com/opal/opal/pull/482 added a checklist, but I need some feedback
<elia> 2) I'd like to prep a 0.7 mileston with real requires and the -few- stuff that can get realistically into it (in terms of open issues)
<elia> adambeynon, things I need feedback are:
<elia> - support for stubbed files, not sure if this goes into the NewBuilder or into the PathReader
<elia> - have a compiler that is able to compile .js as well as .rb files, this could even go as far as wrapping js code in a module and make it requirable (the parallel here is with .so / .dll files in MRI)
boberetezeke has joined #opal
<elia> specifically about putting js files into Opal.modules
gverri has quit [Quit: My MacBook Pro has gone to sleep. ZZZzzz…]
<adambeynon> elia: is there any danger of breaking js files if we wrap them
<adambeynon> i.e. if they use `this` to try and refer to window
<elia> adambeynon, this is easy I think
<elia> problem I see is with var decl
<elia> which would not be toplevel anymore
<elia> even if I'm not sure if it can be solved by using apply
<elia> no, no, it can't
gverri has joined #opal
<elia> anonymous func is the technique CS uses to scope var decl to the file

<ylluminate> hey adambeynon right now i'm getting my son started in on opal and i've used the following includes initially: https://gist.github.com/ylluminate/7adfc35aeb07a03e018a
<ylluminate> elia thankfully threw the run_ruby_scripts.js content at me to make ruby inclusion from a separate file work right
<ylluminate> but i was curious about pulling in opal-browser
<ylluminate> what would be the proper way to yank in opal-browser since it's not in the cdn yet?
<mieko> Just noticed Opal on the HN frontpage: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=7536260
