<HdkR>
It's not supposed to, Bifrost is in some pretty heavily development though
<sfan5>
yeah that's about what I expected to hear
<macc24>
happens on G72 too, sometimes
<alyssa>
i thought that was fixed :<
<alyssa>
sfan5: it's a feature to uh debug kernel... crashing...? :P
<macc24>
wait was i not supposed to just ignore that?
<macc24>
it was happening to me too lol

macc24: happens for me too but I haven't updated my kenrel in ages, I thought bbrezillon had a patch for that, maybe not

since duet people would hang out here: does anyone know the pinout of its keyboard and if it's possible to make custom keyboard for it?

there was a patch to address the AS teardown race, but I don't think it ever got merged
<robmur01>
FWIW it can happen regardless of GPU model - it's purely about the relative lifetimes of stuff in the kernel - but does tend to be easier to hit with slower GPUs
<alyssa>
robmur01: happens a _lot_ more on bifrost then
<alyssa>
then again panfrost perf is a _lot_ worse on bifrost for the moment so.. fair
* macc24
can't wait to see actual performance on bifrost
<robmur01>
basically the longer jobs take to finish after things start getting pulled out from underneath them, the more likely it is to try to resolve a fault in the wrong pagetable code and fall over
<robmur01>
warnings are likely, actually crashing is luck ;)
<macc24>
robmur01: i have noticed that performance starts to tank after it happens
<alyssa>
robmur01: hah
<alyssa>
macc24: I wonder if that's related to the "midgard slows down the longer it is in use" bug I've been haunted by for years
<macc24>
alyssa: it was on bifrost
<alyssa>
right, "related"
<macc24>
wait
<macc24>
midgard slows down?
<macc24>
as in performance = 1/uptime ?
<alyssa>
I have noticed this under some circumstances, yes.
<alyssa>
Not noticeable from regular desktop use, but very noticeable from heavy benchmarking
<macc24>
oh god so that's why
* alyssa
never figured out why
* macc24
runs away
