<mattip> arigato: are the alignment test failures in aarch64 rpython significant?
<mattip> translation on py3.6 fails with "AttributeError: 'Primitive' object has no attribute 'TO'" for "assert len(args_v) == len(FUNC.TO.ARGS)"
<arigato> uh, and only on aarch64 of course
xcm has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<arigato> both of these issues are only on aarch64
<arigato> the alignment failure is strange because other platforms also have strong alignment requirements
xcm has joined #pypy
<arigato> ok no, for some reason it seems to be only arm and aarch64 that refuse unaligned accesses

<mattip> cfbolz: should we link to that somewhere in our documentation (so it doesn't get lost)? I wonder where
<cfbolz> mattip: somehow it's a much better introduction to rpython than anything we have ourselves

<lag> Good afternoon everyone
<lag> Could someone tell me when the next version (v8.0?) will be released?
tsaka__ has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<lag> Apologies, looks like the next release is v7.2 - any ideas?
<mattip> lag: it probably will be 8.0, we need to get the py3.6 std test failures down to a reasonable number before we can release
<mattip> http://buildbot.pypy.org/summary?branch=py3.6 shows the current status
<lag> mattip: Any ideas if/how that translates to time?
<lag> mattip: Does each line represent an issue?
<mattip> open source, volunteer run, now many contributors, the math is difficult
<mattip> s/now/not/
<mattip> each F represents a failing test
<lag> mattip: More beer required? :)

<mattip> arigato: the buildbot is using the pypy in /home/ubuntu/pypy2-v7.2-6885d94b89cf/bin to translate.
<mattip> maybe there is a problem with it, I could try to upgrade to the latest on nightlies
<mattip> I want to update our builtin cryptography version (which provides our cffi _ssl support) from 1.7.2.
<mattip> the release note for 1.9 says it dropped support for MacOS 10.7, 10.8
<mattip> does anyone know what MacOS we claim to support?
<mattip> it seems 10.9 Mavericks was released Oct 2013
<mattip> homebrew is supplying binaries (bottles) for 10.12 Sierra and up, our buildbot binaries are for 10.13 High Sierra
<mattip> so it seems OK to drop those old versions
