I am trying to set that up! One issue I have is that I do not use a mail client (I know!). And setting a password in git config seems a bit unsecure. So I am trying to use what you do emacs+notmuch but it seems like I have a lot to read up first.

Hmm, yea I mean I use sendmail and then encrypt my password with my yubikey

You could always generate an app-specific password for it. But yea, is maybe a bit weird to just set the password in plain text

I should change my mail setup slightly, because I have the password in plain text on my computer, but only readable by root
