<zrafa> Hi
<zrafa> little question: somebody did build openwrt recently?
<zrafa> I get an error and I do not have any idea about the problem (internet and google did not help me).
<zrafa> when make...

<zrafa> sorry about the long lines
<zrafa> if somebody had the same problem recently I would be glad to know why :)
<pcercuei> zrafa: try with i486-linux-gnu-g++
<zrafa> pcercuei: how? I just did make V=s
<zrafa> did you say to install some i486 package?
<zrafa> do you*
<pcercuei> no.
<zrafa> pcercuei: can you explain the idea a bit more? Sorry, I am not an expert in openwrt. I just followed the qi and openwrt instructions to build
<pcercuei> neither am I

<viric> Are you sure gcc doesn't need stdc++?
<viric> it requires a c++ compiler since 4.7
* whitequark fails to understand why should a cross-compiler be a separate binary
jekhor has joined #qi-hardware
<viric> whitequark: many parameters are determined at preprocessor time
<whitequark> viric: not "gcc". "a cross-compiler"
<viric> tcc behaves the same.
<viric> clang not?
<whitequark> when I used to maintain a small distro, like half of the time I was dealing with gcc quirks. sysroot, cross-compiling, etc
<viric> kenc too
<whitequark> viric: nope.
<whitequark> clang can cross-compile to anything linked in to llvm.
<whitequark> $ llvm-config --targets-built
<whitequark> R600 X86 Sparc PowerPC ARM Mips CellSPU XCore MSP430 CppBackend MBlaze NVPTX Hexagon
<viric> moreover, one thing is producing code, the other is producing runable binaries.
<whitequark> here you are.
<whitequark> huh?
<viric> the glue with the OS
<whitequark> yea, you'd need a crosscompiled libc
<whitequark> ... which you can compile with the same clang ;)
<viric> sure

<larsc> dammit, had to abort my tour through cluj downtown early because they canceled my flight, and only after a lot of complaining booked me on a flight 200km from here
<wpwrak> no good nightlife to spend that extra evening ?
<larsc> there is no extra evening, I'm going to hop on a cab to be there on time
<pcercuei> they pay you the ride?
<larsc> I don't know we'll see
<wpwrak> yeah, i meant with the cancelled flight, you'd have returned a day later and thus had had one more evening. or maybe you've already checked out all the places :)
<larsc> I called them and they were like, yeah so we can give book you on a flight on tuesday, and was like WTF?!
<larsc> and I was like WTF?!
<wpwrak> oh, i see. not a country where people are in a great hurry :)
<larsc> good old german lufthansa
<larsc> and it is actually my colleagues, who is here with me, birthday on sunday
<wpwrak> probably sub-sub-sub-contracted
<larsc> and he has a big party planned
<wpwrak> ah, i see. that's messy then
<wpwrak> in general, i tend to keep a buffer of at least 24 hours when traveling. in the good old days, there were rarely problems, and if there were, they tried hard to minimize the delay. but in recent years, you can get bad surprises resulting in the loss of a full day with almost every airline
<wpwrak> interesting: atusb is actually pretty well positioned, price-wise. the competition hovers around about twice the price. (packs more software into their dongles, though, but that may not be necessary)
<larsc> wpwrak: I think you've even met my colleague, he told me you guys had a beer a few years ago in ottawa
<wpwrak> i had beers with a lot of people :) especially in ottawa ;-)
<larsc> hehe
<larsc> he was doing blackfin back then
<wpwrak> at least there's a small chance that i still remember someone with whom i had beers. with the pangalactic gargleblasters (they serve them at a bar/club there) and all the other stuff, such an outcome is less likely :)
<larsc> yea
<wpwrak> hmm, blackfin doesn't ring a bell. maybe we just talked about beer.
<larsc> could be
<whitequark> wpwrak: analog devices
<whitequark> a 16/32 bit family which has nommu linux. all that I know...
<wpwrak> i meant "meeting someone who talked about blackfin" :)
