<wpwrak> whitequark: yes, they do. they open every parcel and check.
<whitequark> wow
<whitequark> that's some dedication to the job.
<whitequark> I think that every single parcel I have received was marked incorrectly (lower cost, bullshitty description) and no one bothered.

<wpwrak> i think they're mainly looking for drugs and such. but of course, they'll notice other anomalies as well.

<larsc> pcercuei: I want to send your two jz4740 mmc patches upstream, can I add your Signed-off-by?
<pcercuei> larsc: of course
<pcercuei> which ones?
<larsc> "mmc: JZ4740: Remove duplicated code." and "mmc: JZ4740: Fix handling of read errors."

<apelete> finally soldered the 3-wires serial output on the NN, but I don't get any output in minicom
<apelete> (only using the GND, TXD and RXD wires on it though)
<apelete> and my kernel comand line is:
<apelete> Kernel command line: mem=32M console=tty0 console=ttyS0,57600n8 rootfstype=ext2 root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rw rootwait
<larsc> does it work?
<apelete> minicom configuration: Baud rate is 57600, 8n1, no hardware or software flow control.
<larsc> should work, but the nanonote is 3.3V
<apelete> larsc: the NN is booting just fine, but no serial output
<larsc> have you tried switching rx and tx?
<apelete> it works ! \o/
<apelete> larsc: thanks!
<larsc> hehe
<larsc> the labeling is often confusing
<larsc> some label it as you need to connect your tx pin to this pin
<larsc> and some label it as this is the tx pin of the serial converter
<apelete> larsc: yes, I connected RX label to RX pin of the converter, but it was the other way around

<DocScrutinizer05> nah, engineers always put the label on it that names the function of what's inside
<DocScrutinizer05> ;-)
<larsc> maybe
<DocScrutinizer05> or a clear pictogram that unambiguously shows *what to do*, like rx--->|TX
<DocScrutinizer05> usually it's a bit cumbersome to write what shall get plugged in here, as usually there are several options what to plug in, like headphones, amp, speakers, mixer....
* DocScrutinizer05 wonders what else than "230V ~" to write on a mains outlet for example. "hairdryer"? "appliances"?
