<paowz> hi ! I d/l rockchip 3.0 kernel sources.. when looking into build targets, I have the following for the rk3188:
<paowz> rk3188_magicwand_defconfig - Build for rk3188_magicwand
<paowz> rk3188_pancake_defconfig - Build for rk3188_pancake
<paowz> rk3188_tb_defconfig - Build for rk3188_tb
<paowz> rk3188_steak_defconfig - Build for rk3188_steak
<paowz> what do they stand for ??

<naobsd_> paowz: do you want to ask how to build kernel for radxa rock?(answer: see wiki) or you want to know random things which are not explained?(=it may not be useful for RR)
<naobsd_> there are many files which are not useful for RR, generally most people don't have interest and don't know detail about them...

<paowz> naobsd_: building a kernel is as simple as saying hello.. any README file tells about it..
<paowz> what you call "random things" are actually a bunch of parameters applied to a kernel config before a make..
<paowz> maybe most people don't have interest about them, but I cannot ignore these files, since I got started in this domain.. I remain a newbie :)
<paowz> in fact, I wished to know what target I have to build to get a proper kernel for the RR Pro, between what is proposed: magicwand, pancake, steak.. etc..
<paowz> I gonna end up trying each kernel config..
<naobsd_> about how to build kernel for RR(pro), I already answered about it :(
<naobsd_> please see/search wiki before asking
<naobsd_> I never say wiki is perfect, please ask if something on wiki is wrong/unclear/etc
<naobsd_> and
<naobsd_> you have a board, source, etc
<naobsd_> you can also get answer from them
<paowz> naobsd_: I'm thankfull for your patience with me, sincerelly, but my question was more general, in fact.. I'm reading this tuto http://www.cnx-software.com/2014/01/27/getting-started-with-raxda-rock-how-to-generate-and-flash-ubuntu-saucy-server-and-desktop-images/
<paowz> and the supplied defconfig to use, just doesn't exist anymore.. that's why I asked so.. my bad, I could have explained this before..
<paowz> Other than that, I totally agree, I don't have to query you upon questions that responses are in a wiki or elsewhere..
<paowz> :)

<naobsd_> "assuming "referring old/non-official blog at 1st" is general" is not general (at least for me...)
<naobsd_> mm
<naobsd_> well, it may be general thing
<naobsd_> so generally my first answer is "please explain what you did and what you got with detail"
<naobsd_> "I did (few words), it doesn't work" has no information...
<paowz> fair enough.
<naobsd_> anyway
<naobsd_> there is wiki for RR
<naobsd_> you can refer it, and you can update it :)
<paowz> like updating dead links ? http://dl.radxa.com/rock/images/ubuntu/latest/ :P
<naobsd_> :)
<paowz> I tried this wiki, for some reason, it wasn't successful.. that was before I give a try to a non-radxa tuto..
<paowz> anyway.. if you ensure this wiki is supposed to work on a RR Pro, then I might faulty for sure.. therefore, I'll give another try.
<naobsd_> wiki is not perfect, but it's updated day by day
<paowz> *might BE faulty
<naobsd_> pro is new board
<paowz> I lack lot of knowledge.. bit frustrating..
<naobsd_> and there are old pages even on radxa's wiki
<paowz> I have to leave.. see you later, naobsd_ ;)
paowz is now known as paowz_afk
<naobsd_> see you
