<billmania>
sandeepkr: Good morning. Which Radxa board do you have?
<sandeepkr>
hi billmania
<sandeepkr>
none yet
<sandeepkr>
but im enthusiastic about it. i have been working on a data acquisition system for which i would like to use radxa as a computer for processing and visualising the data
<sandeepkr>
billmania, so basically i would be automating physics experiments with radxa with the help of this data acquistion systems
<billmania>
sandeepkr: Sounds very interesting.
<billmania>
I have a Radxa Rock Pro running ubuntu 14 Server.
<billmania>
I'm using it for two projects: a mobile, autonomous rover using ROS; a fully instrumented sailing ketch.
<billmania>
I'm hoping to find someone else using ubuntu on the Rock Pro, since there is an annoying bug in the apt configuration.
<billmania>
Do you know any of the other 21 people in the Chat at the moment?
<sandeepkr>
billmania, thats cool.are you working with some long term goal on your ROS rove or just for fun ?
<sandeepkr>
billmania, sorry no.
<sandeepkr>
may be you should post what you are looking for in the mailing list or forum
<billmania>
The rover is mostly a learning project for me. It continues to evolve. I work for a mapping company so it may turn into a project to map areas where cars can't go.
<sandeepkr>
billmania, nice
<sandeepkr>
im also planning to acquire analog data from sensors over interenet and control instrument/data acquistion device
<sandeepkr>
i have an educational startup and this will be an open source project dedicated to providing an affordable instrumentation platform to school and university students
<sandeepkr>
billmania, are you documenting your project online in blogs or something similar , any links ?
<billmania>
Not really documenting it - too busy on too many projects to take the time to write readable documentation. :)
<billmania>
The little bit I have written is at http://manialabs.wordpress.com/, but that will give you a good idea of why I make so little progress on any one project.
<billmania>
By the way, I'm in the East Bay of California, in the city of Berkeley. Where are you located?
<sandeepkr>
billmania, i live in a suburb in India
<billmania>
Which one? I've been to New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Agra.
<sandeepkr>
billmania, 40 km from New Delhi
<billmania>
What's the name of your education company?
<sandeepkr>
billmania, Madresistor
<sandeepkr>
im also at #madresistor
<sandeepkr>
billmania, cool.hope you enjoyed your visit to India.
<billmania>
I am glad I had the chance to visit twice. I especially enjoyed being able to touch the Taj Mahal and walk inside.
<billmania>
As you probably know, as a westerner India was a completely new experience for me.
<sandeepkr>
billmania, nice.nice.its only some 70 -80 km away from where iam but still never got to visit it
<sandeepkr>
:)
<billmania>
All of us tend to ignore the things which are right in our own neighborhood.
<billmania>
I've lived in the Bay Area over two years now and there are still many places within a bicycle ride which I've not yet visited.
<sandeepkr>
yes.and there is a saying that you never see your own home town completely.
<sandeepkr>
though i have visited jaipur and other places in India.
<billmania>
That saying applies to people in every country. I work with students who live close enough to the Golden Gate Bridge to see it, and it's a major attraction of the Bay Area, yet they've never crossed it.
<sandeepkr>
next time when you are here do visit to northeast India.there are some nice place too.its veru natural and hilly
<billmania>
Let's see if we can find someone in this channel with an ubuntu Rock Pro.
<billmania>
naobsd: Good morning. Do you have a Radxa board?
<sandeepkr>
i would higly recommend you to post in the forum, if its not super urgent.
