OK when are we going to see a Rock3 with the RK3399 on board? :)
<topi`>
with 4 GB of ram, preferably :)
<topi`>
and a decent usb3-based SATA bridge chip from JMicron
<hipboi>
topi`, maybe 8G ram
<topi`>
mmm, sounds fine!
<topi`>
my Rock2 has only 2 GB, because the 4GB option was unavailable at the time I ordered it :(
<topi`>
I wonder how expensive 8 GB really is since DDR3L chips must be more expensive than the usual bulk DDR3
<topi`>
last year I read from Fudzilla that Intel believes chipmakers like Rockchip are going to turn to Intel cores, since designing ARM cores at the same time becomes too expensive - but at least the new RK chip releases prove otherwise
<topi`>
and anyways ARM cores are popping up everywhere... Samsung, NVIDIA, others... Intel is just one single company
<topi`>
I'd not place my bets on Intel's long term supremacy

topi`, there was a time, the rumour says rockchip and intel's cooperation not going well
<hipboi>
then rockchip has to officially deny it

well, I guess it's more than just the usual cultural differences between USA and CHina
