<ocdtrekkie>
I magically ended up somewhere unexpected on the app market, and filed an issue about it.
<asheesh>
: )
<ocdtrekkie>
Asheesh, I have a question. Possibly a bug.
<ocdtrekkie>
Nena's icon is showing up as "image cannot be loaded" in the Sandstorm Ports in Progress Wekan
Aurelius_Home has joined #sandstorm
<ocdtrekkie>
It is the only one that does that, which is weird.
<dwrensha>
Oh, we saw this yesterday in a different wekan!
<dwrensha>
I think it's because she changed here profile image
<dwrensha>
and the grain has cached the URL to the old one, which is now invalid
<dwrensha>
the problem will go away if/when she next visits the grain

<ocdtrekkie>
Ah. That makes sense. Would not the ideal way to ensure this doesn't break is to make URLs for profile pictures likely to continue to be found in the same place? Or is that a security issue?
<zarvox>
Wonder if we should just preserve past profile pictures forever, since we've exposed them in a way that leads to weak references existing and breaking
<ocdtrekkie>
I tried spinning up a Rocket.Chat grain in MS Edge and the style didn't load and it looked awful. Though the Rocket.Chat demo on their site works fine.
<zarvox>
ocdtrekkie: interesting, I spun up a new Rocket.Chat instance in Firefox and the style didn't load until I refreshed the page. Their first startup time has gotten a lot slower.
<ocdtrekkie>
Lemme see.
<ocdtrekkie>
Yeah, this time it worked, was just really slow.
<dwrensha>
We now have Identity capabilities...
<dwrensha>
we could make the profile picture available as a Static Asset through a method on Identity
<dwrensha>
then grains would not not cache profile picture Urls
<dwrensha>
instead they would remember saved Identity capabilities

<simonv3>
asheesh: sandstorm docs should become available on dash
<ocdtrekkie>
I like it too, but I need it to handle more :stuff: before I can use it.
<ocdtrekkie>
I imported my Gmail contacts and it died.
<dwrensha>
I'm using the calandar parts, not the contacts parts
<asheesh>
The search indexing is client side, if that's what you mean, isd!
<asheesh>
At least in current docs.sandstorm.io
<dwrensha>
I'm kinda confused about why they are in the same app
<isd>
asheesh: I meant, I inferred from dash's website that their tool did some indexing.
<isd>
whereas simply downloading the website will not give you any search capability.
<ocdtrekkie>
dwrensha: Well, they were always the same app, presumably, and that's what multiple actions are for, presumably.

<Aurelius_Home>
how could a only moderately technical person who has a lot of background in visualization/dashboards/reporting/technical sales help the project?

Aurelius_Home: Hi! Gosh. Fascinating. If we don't get back to you with ideas tonight, email me, asheesh@sandstorm.io , and I can see.

So, what I really want is like... Google Books with full text search and all, but for my PDF files and self-hosted.
<eternaleye>
Post-it summary: Multicast capability-secure IPC with cap passing, FD passing, and nice performance
<dwrensha>
aw, they mentioned us :)
<eternaleye>
If it gets merged (and if it does, it'll likely get syscalls rather than the current ioctl interface), it might be a really nice transport for Cap'n Proto, especially in the sandbox
<zarvox>
:D
<eternaleye>
Yup!
* eternaleye
toddles off to try and make a Rust binding for the raw interface :D
