I don't know why we don't "just" give you the data you need, though.
<isd>
Like I said, I'm not terribly experience with frontent programming. how does js do with binary data? any reason it would be a problem?
<asheesh>
Perhaps smart to waith for kentonv or zarvox or dwrensha to be around to answer these; I don't have quick answers for you, I'm afraid.
<isd>
Fair enough. it's not really a major burden
<isd>
I guess it makes copying and pasting easier if nothing else.
<isd>
...I really need to clean this keyboard. So many typos.
<isd>
Some of them being my fault, but sometimes stuff just doesn't register...

<eternaleye>
Would there be any interest in having pre-made images for VMs (and common cloud hosting providers) that basically just have a first-boot script that installs sandstorm, sets it up, and $somehow displays admin credentials?
<eternaleye>
Unlike distro packages, such an image should only very rarely need updates (basically on key rotation), and could make it considerably easier for people to spin up (almost) self-hosted Sandstorm
<eternaleye>
Hm, for most services, the $somehow could probably be handled simply by putting it on the console - privileged to access, doesn't require additional tools
<eternaleye>
(Since basically everyone provides a way to look at boot logs)
<eternaleye>
Could be a nice option in the "install on your own server" section

does the way to pass to api token in the URL (/.sandstorm-api-token/<token>) only work for websockets, or generally?

Hi eternaleye
<asheesh>
Would totally be useful. I began work on that as part of an integration with DreamHost; you can check out the (somewhat simple) scripts here to do it: https://github.com/paulproteus/dreamcompute-sandstorm

I'd *love* to see that factored-out into something that was reviewed by someone sharp like you, and made more general and useful cross-"cloud".
