I register sandstorm under my hostname
<WantToBuySandsto>
What I must to do now?
<kentonv>
did you configure a wildcard DNS entry?
<WantToBuySandsto>
No I don't know what is this.
<kentonv>
you need to register something like *.sandstorm.mydomain.com, in addition to sandstorm.mydomain.com

Question: If developers close this project - my own-hosted server also stop working?
<kentonv>
WantToBuySandsto: What do you mean by "developers close this project"?
<kentonv>
do you mean, if Sansdtorm.io shuts down?
<kentonv>
your server does not depend on us to keep running. If we as a company disappeared your server would continue to work fine.

Question: If i make an aplication shared link somebody - this link can be shared many times? How I can disable this link? If I disable this link - everybody lose connection of this shared document or not?
<kentonv>
you can disable the link by going to "share access -> see who has access (at the bottom)" and deleting the link
<kentonv>
everyone who got access through the link will lose access
<kentonv>
if you share to people by e-mail address, each person will get a different link
<WantToBuySandsto>
And if I share via link, but for registered user. And this user choose - take this via registered name, he also lose access or not?
<kentonv>
yes, the will still lose access if you revoke the link. We always remember how people got access.
<kentonv>
however, we plan to improve this later. We want it to be that when you revoke a link that people used to get access, Sandstorm then asks you whether you want those people to keep access or not.
<kentonv>
but that's not done yet so for now they lose access. You'll need to share with them again.
<WantToBuySandsto>
If I make a user invite link - this link work only one time?
<WantToBuySandsto>
or I can send it for all my users?
<kentonv>
the user invite link is one-time
<kentonv>
that is the ones you make at /admin/users/invite

hi... does anyone know if its possible to find out what email you used when you signed up for a sandcats domain, because i must've use a throwaway one and apparently i need it to recover my subdomain
<cr_>
Hello! I ran into an issue while trying to install Sandstorm. Ubuntu 16.04.1, kernel 4.4, bare metal - after requesting the certificate, I got chmod: cannot access 'var/sandcats/https/subdomain.sandcats.io/0.response-json': No such file or directory
<cr_>
After which the install just bails out. It's already registered a subdomain for me. Where do I go from here?

It didn't even install the sandstorm command, so I can't follow the uninstall instructions :\
<cr_>
Alright, so I saved off /opt/sandstorm/var and then removed /opt/sandstorm and tried to reinstall.
<cr_>
I recovered my subdomain (it wasn't obvious that you could do this from the installer; you have to ask for help when it asks for the subdomain and then it tells you about recovery) and now it's installed. How strange that it didn't work the first time.
<cr_>
Aaand I guess I have to set up port forwarding at my router to get sandcats.io to work.
<samba_>
but there's nothing about email issue when sending invites

Hmm. I'm not sure Sandstorm logs email that it sends. Let me go read the source to check.

<asheesh>
samba_: I think under normal operation Sandstorm won't log anything when it sends emails, but it will leave a note in the Sandstorm server log area if sending an email fails.
<asheesh>
Have you looked there yet?
<samba_>
into log/*logs ?
<samba_>
yes
<samba_>
tail -f /opt/sandstorm/log/*log
<samba_>
send invitation
<samba_>
from the UI 'invitation sent'
<samba_>
no logs
<samba_>
no email received
<asheesh>
I meant here - https://rose.sandcats.io/admin/status (or the URL for your server) - but that corresponds to the file in /opt/sandstorm/var/log/sandstorm.log
<asheesh>
If you're OK with it, one thing we could do is configure your Sandstorm server to use a logging-only SMTP server, so you can see exactly what it's sending to the SMTP server.
<asheesh>
I can help you set that up if you like.
<asheesh>
The easiest way to do that is to run this command on the server that runs Sandstorm:
