Hello, I am trying to do a few things on Sandstorm. But I'm not sure if they are possible. 1.) Encrypted storage of Roundcube emails 2.) Send and Receive email from Roundcube using my own domain i.e. "myname@mydomain.com" 3.) Encryption of sent and received emails
<TheDataWrangler>
Edit: 3.) Encryption of the emails as they are sent from Roundcube
<TimMc>
TheDataWrangler: On #2, do you already have a mail host?
<TheDataWrangler>
I have a domain through namecheap and I am hosting Sandstorm from home on my own server. So I guess my server would be the mail host?
<TheDataWrangler>
I also have a RapidSSL certificate I can use
<TimMc>
By mail host I mean something like fastmail, gmail, hotmail, etc. -- a server that responds to SMTP and provides POP or IMAP access.
<TimMc>
I don't think people can send mail directly to RoundCube. You'd have to have the mail sent to some other server, and then RoundCube would provide a web interface for that received mail (and a way to send outbound mail through that server.)
<TheDataWrangler>
Ideally I would like to have everything running from my server. I don't want to use any 3rd party resources. But I do have gmail.
<TimMc>
You could set up something like dovecot on the same box, of course.
<TheDataWrangler>
Yes I know about dovecot. I was just trying to use sandstorm instead. It was a lot easier to setup lol I guess roundcube is a watered down dovecot?
<TimMc>
Dovecot is a mail server; RoundCube is just a mail client, from what I can see. Just a way of interacting with the mail server.
<TheDataWrangler>
Ah okay! That makes more sense. So I could use Dovecot alongside Sandstorm. That seems like the direction I'll go in.
