<ohsix> yea that
<ohsix> just putting a surface on connected lines in 3d would do it, like you might do in real life when you wrap covering around stuff
<ohsix> it's just easy to think about and express stuff as changing along a primary length and the shapes it transitions through doing it
<ohsix> i don't know enough about computational geometry to know what is possible or sane

<tristero> interesting. I don't know enough about it either (obv), but there would have to be other constraints besides the two shapes, like a spline. Maybe too many for a unique or best solution?
<tristero> looks like there are "meta" approaches in openscad that use scripts to generate the intermediate portion
<Na> ohsix: There's not any general way to do it in solvespace, (at least, not as far as I'm aware), and unfortunately, depending on the sort of thing you're trying to do, there often isn't *any* way to do it. If the geometry you want is possible to model in solvespace, you'll have to come up with a construction for it
<GitHub> [solvespace] whitequark commented on issue #294: Thanks for figuring it out! https://github.com/solvespace/solvespace/issues/294#issuecomment-332577260
<Na> For example, here's how I built the sample that reportings linked to https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B3b0velHqkC1Ml91TWdLMEFWZ1E the firstpass version is what I ended up with as a result of trying to mentally construct the thing, the second version has my unnecessary corner-cut extrudes removed, and uses less convoluted constructed references
