<wpwrak>
heya ! so ... what's going on with solvespace development ? it looks as if it had been suspended indefinitely ?
<whitequark>
wpwrak: not indefinitely
<whitequark>
but I've had a hard time with mental health lately. several months of undiagnosed/untreated bipolar disorder were pretty hard and I've yet to fully recover from it
<wpwrak>
oh dear. that sounds unpleasant :(
<whitequark>
it was extremely unpleasant. I think. I don't actually remember any of the previous summer, which probably should be anind indicator
<wpwrak>
interesting kind of memory hole. but that could be useful at times ;-)
<whitequark>
wpwrak: anyway, the next thing would be to rebase the entire master branch on top of v2.0 again so that it's CLA clean
<whitequark>
this is somewhat annoying as it's a thousand or so commits
<whitequark>
then I could finally merge everything
<wpwrak>
that would be great. there's still so much solvespace could and should do better.
<wpwrak>
and i guess the next step will be the switch to the new file format ?
<whitequark>
yes.
<whitequark>
the current file format is really limiting a lot.
<wpwrak>
i hope that one day i'll be able to get you to accept alternative spacial navigation (mouse) modes :) muscle memory really gets upset when switching between solvespace, cura, kicad, ...
<whitequark>
I'm warming up to that idea
<wpwrak>
excellent :)
<wpwrak>
another one would be my patch that shows the DOF in the list of groups. just did a little design, then went through all the 20 or so groups to see if i had missed any DOF. of course i did. so even now that i'm reasonably experienced with solvespace, it's still easy to miss such things, and having to search for them this way is a bit silly.
<whitequark>
yeah sure, that patch is great
<whitequark>
the only reason it's not merged is the CLA stuff
<wpwrak>
you have that CLA now ?
<whitequark>
not yet, it needs discussion with Jonathan still
<whitequark>
there's been some disagreement over which one best suits our goals
<whitequark>
nothing that would actually block the process, just something that needs to be talked about
