<hassan64> fche: While compiling systemtap on ARM. I am getting following error: Please see the link: https://gist.github.com/hassan113/9509989fc58bae3264e5795bd86b8cdd
<hassan64> I think it is problem with system-4.2 version. 4.1 version compiles successfully
<hassan64> fche: I am getting such error in making *.ko file. Please see my github . https://gist.github.com/hassan113/9509989fc58bae3264e5795bd86b8cdd

<hassan64> Please fix "stapbpf-stapbpf.o" Warning treated as Error in latest systemTAP 4.2. https://sourceware.org/git/systemtap.git
<hassan64> It breaks my process of compiling systemTAP in ARM target.
<hassan64> shifting to 4.1 version fixes the issue

<hassan64> Any one there. I need to compile systemtap module and copy to my ARMv5 taget machine. But I got an error. https://gist.github.com/hassan113/9509989fc58bae3264e5795bd86b8cdd
<lindi-> hassan64: do you see an "uninstall" target in the Makefile?
<lindi-> hassan64: are you compiling systemtap on arm or are you compiling it on x86 with a cross-compiler?
<lindi-> hassan64: complete build log and the command that you used to build it might help
<lindi-> hassan64: it is Saturday so don't expect people to be active :)
<hassan64> lindi-: yes I have successfully compile systemtap on ARM. Now I am make system tap module (*.stp to *.ko), which causes an error

khaled has quit [Quit: Konversation terminated!]
<lindi-> hassan64: so which exact command causes what error?
khaled has joined #systemtap
<lindi-> hassan64: yes, that contains partial output but not the command you used?
<hassan64> please see my github again
<lindi-> hassan64: so you are using a cross-compiler?
<hassan64> yes
<lindi-> and it is running on x86?
<hassan64> yes
<lindi-> ok, I have no idea how systemtap works with cross-compilers sorry
<lindi-> I thought you were running systemtap itself on arm
<hassan64> it work on simple helloworld script.
<hassan64> successfully compiled *.stp -> *.ko
<hassan64> I think it might be an issue with my kernel
<hassan64> some features need to be enabled
<hassan64> can I uninstall systemtap, generated from it source not apt get
<lindi-> hassan64: "hassan64: do you see an "uninstall" target in the Makefile?"
<hassan64> which Makefile ?
<lindi-> hassan64: probably the top-level Makefile that you used to install it
<hassan64> No I did not see it "uninstall" written in Makefile,
<hassan64> wait..
<hassan64> In systemtap4.2 directory. There is a Makefile. When I open it there are many "uninstall" variables
<hassan64> can i do "sudo make uninstall" inside systemtap directory ?
<lindi-> hassan64: I'm guessing that should work
<hassan64> I ma using 4.2/0.177 translator/driver .
<hassan64> May be an error is due to systemtap build on my ubuntu machine. i.e command in github
<hassan64> But I did it exactly yesterday against AARCH machine and it was done succeffully
