<somlo>
what's a good word for "device capable of initiating DMA transfers" (trying to avoid a 6-word phrase when referring to such a device in a comment :) )
<ZipCPU>
DMA capable ?
<Hoernchen>
bus master dma capable
<somlo>
in tcp/ip (which I'm much more familiar with) there's "initiator" and "responder"/"listener", a.k.a. "client" and "server", respectively. It's the "initiator" property (i.e. the thing starting a transfer" that I want to emphasize). Guess "dma bus master" is as close as I can get (three words) :)
