just more of a reason to do it :)

were there any MCA cards that were "native" and not via some sort of MCA to ISA bridge chip?
<ej5>
yes, ibm had a bunch of custom chips that they used for their hardware, others developed their own

<m4t>
does anyone know how much current the ym2612 uses when active?
<m4t>
maybe worst case

is going to build a megagrrl desktop and is wondering how much heat a 12v input to the 5v/3.3v linear regs will generate

<natarii>
It'll be fine if you use a heatsink similar to the one in the BOM (which I'm sorry has so many out of stock links). Hot for sure, but it will be fine
<natarii>
I've always used 12V on my dev units out of convenience
<m4t>
cool, thanks. yeah i had the one from the BOM in my cart
<m4t>
there were several things oos but i had fun replacing them with boutique audio stuff :P
<m4t>
the usb was the trickiest thing but the amphenol (e.g. 61729-1011BLF
<m4t>
) seem to have identical dimensions in the datasheet
<m4t>
oh. and the headphone jack. there are no suitable replacements i could find. but jameco has it and i wanted to get a linear psu so it worked out.
