<lanefu> Tonymac32: except bad to hear, that means our le potato fixes broke c2 if you didnt catch yesterdays conversations
<Tonymac32> I did not
<Tonymac32> and how would it break C2? now I am confused
<Tonymac32> GX/GXL have the same sound subsystem
<Tonymac32> ...unless the C2 is still rocking some old crap in it's device tree.......
* Tonymac32 remembers the C2 was the lone Amlogic device and had its own family
* Tonymac32 tries to forget those days
<Tonymac32> ;-)
<buZz> it broke audio on C2 mostly, i think?
<Tonymac32> that's where I'm confused, the C2 is an S905
<Tonymac32> which has the same audio pipeline as an S905X to my knowledge
<Tonymac32> (Le Potato being S905X
<Tonymac32> )

<lanefu> yeah reading things didn't help me understand
<lanefu> so i was wonderinf its some device tree stuff
<Tonymac32> ok, looking at the device tree I don't know how C2 ever had sound
<Tonymac32> no sound node or anything
<lanefu> so how's he have sound on our older images
maccraft has quit [Quit: WeeChat 2.7]
<Tonymac32> the older driver was a bit of a hack, I'm not sure how it was tied in exactly
<Tonymac32> hang on
<Tonymac32> your patch is in the trunk, right?
maccraft has joined #armbian
<Tonymac32> doesn't matter I'm still in "test" mode so it's applied
<Tonymac32> I'll play with this, it is DT related
<Tonymac32> Le Potato has a big sound node that specifies the device, which is
<Tonymac32> compatible = "amlogic,gx-sound-card"
<Tonymac32> should be the same for C2
<Tonymac32> and an aiu node
* Tonymac32 will update and add K2 while I'm in here
<Tonymac32> My K2 has something wrong with it HDMI wise (always has), so my testing of that will be "best effort"
<Tonymac32> I wish they would have just "K2+"d an S905X on there instead of killing that board
<Tonymac32> *building C2 version to see if fixed*
