why ?
<icenowy[m]>
mripard: just to model the behavior that the SRAM C controls the access to the *whole* DE2 part

Hi, we would like to implement more deeper cpu idle states (more than WFI) on A83t. PSCI is problematic there, so the way to go is to write cpuidle driver which will control CPUCFG registers?
<icenowy[m]>
mripard: the only question is whether you accept it
<icenowy[m]>
if you accepted I won't change ;-)
<mripard>

mripard, montjoie: if I want to convert the syscon of A64 to a regmap exported by the sunxi-sram driver, how to do it?
<icenowy[m]>
and keep the device tree compatibility
<mripard>
icenowy[m]: like you did for the clocks
<mripard>
wouldn't that work ?
lucascastro has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<icenowy[m]>
what mean "for clocks"?
<jernej>
mripard: I prepared large patchset for H6 DRM (~30 patches). Should I send them "per partes", like only clock changes first?
<icenowy[m]>
oh I mean how to work in the dwmac-sun8i driver

icenowy[m]: what wens did for the R40 wouldn't work?
lucas_ has quit [Client Quit]
<icenowy[m]>
mripard: it will work
<icenowy[m]>
however one problem is that we need to keep dt compatibility
lucascastro has quit [Ping timeout: 256 seconds]
<mripard>
I'm not really sure what would be broken
<icenowy[m]>
syscon have no device bound to it
<icenowy[m]>
so the code to get regmap from syscon is different to the code to get it from device
<mripard>
well, if you add the allwinner,sun50i-a64-system-controller compatible to the SRAM driver, that would work, right?
<icenowy[m]>
this compatible string is not used in any code ;-)
<mripard>
that's my point
<mripard>
if you add that compatible to the SRAM driver
<icenowy[m]>
the real compatible string used is only "syscon"
<mripard>
you have a device, with a regmap
<mripard>
and you can use the same API to retrieve the regmap from the device than you did from the clocks
<icenowy[m]>
then you expect it to work as both sram controller and syscon?
<mripard>
only as an SRAM controller, which would export its regmap, like the clocks do in the R40 serie wens sent
tuxillo has joined #linux-sunxi
<icenowy[m]>
oh sorry syscon is also a device
<icenowy[m]>
I'm wrong
<icenowy[m]>
its driver is at drivers/mfd/syscon.c
<icenowy[m]>
but it seems to export the regmap
<icenowy[m]>
so maybe we can use only dev_get_regmap ;-)
<mkid>
Hi. Is it a way to check what speed mode is used by MMC controller to communicate with sdcard on A64?

the wiki suggests that the R16 is just a relabelled version of the A33. i'm wondering whether they're just functionally equivalent (whatever that actually means) or whether somebody has determined them to be exactly the same design
<florolf>
i'm asking because i'm trying to do some board bringup on a R16 system and want to know if the A33 dram init in mainline uboot will work properly on that soc
