rjeffries: mmmh, anything beyond AAA tend to be to exotic. there are quite a few battery types outside the usual range, some quite appealing (depending on the use case), but overall just too exotic

in the end, i resolved it by generating #ifdef ... stuff ... #endif sequences with a script
