<dRbiG>
hmm
<dRbiG>
school is general
<dominikh>
even this meta-discussion of education is confusing :)
<dRbiG>
it is
<dRbiG>
hmm
<dRbiG>
actually it is indeed hard to define in one sentcne
<dRbiG>
sentence
<dRbiG>
and i'm thinking only about how it works in poland
<dRbiG>
the good thing is that at least this side of the pond tries to unidy the higher-education as a 3-tier system
<dRbiG>
which, as funny & confusing as it might be, seems to be pertty much embedded in english
<dRbiG>
as in 'pre-grad, grad, and post-grad school'
<dominikh>
I don't care too much about what they'll do to our education system anymore. I'm in university, and after that I'll be done with education
<dRbiG>
which is funny as in polish there are no such nice clear-cut words to give that meaning, and a lot of older folks get confused very fast when talking about it
<dRbiG>
dominikh: i know your point, but i always hated when i was in high-school the idea of 'i'm past it - so fuck it' attitude
<dominikh>
I can't fix it, so why care :)
<dRbiG>
i'm trying not to be a hypocrite
<dominikh>
I won't have any children, so it really will never affect me again
rikai has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<dRbiG>
well by definition it won't affect _you_ regardless of childern
<dominikh>
not true
<dominikh>
if it affected my children, it might very well affect me, too
<dRbiG>
yes
<dRbiG>
but it may affect you via other children
<dRbiG>
;)
<dRbiG>
if you want to be that exact
<dominikh>
not in any noteworthy way
<dRbiG>
unless they bash you're head with a bottle beacuse they hate the edu system ;)
<dRbiG>
as extreme as i hope that was
<dominikh>
*your
<dRbiG>
(sorry again)
<dominikh>
and I'm sure some kid will find some stupid reason to bash my head in
<dominikh>
it's not like that's not already happening
<dominikh>
not to me, personally, of course
<dRbiG>
yep
<dominikh>
but there are plenty of useless humans assaulting older men
<dRbiG>
there's a lot of a lot indeed
<dRbiG>
still, i'd venture that working on the basics would be the best non-so-intrusive way to make stuff better
<dRbiG>
you no, you make 'edu better'
<dRbiG>
i guess getting to what exactly 'edu better' meanns is a neat challenge of its own
<dominikh>
I strongly believe that government has no interest in a well educated population. a small amount of people, sure, that's required for the economy. but the vast majority of people is better kept as stupid as possible
<dominikh>
well educated people don't vote for the kind of folks they put up ;)
<dRbiG>
i have that believe too
<dominikh>
well, corrupt governments, anyway.
<dominikh>
which includes Germany's
<dRbiG>
my feeling lately is that it's not 'whether the gov is corrupt' but rather 'how & how far'
<dominikh>
but it's another thing I've mostly stopped caring about
<dRbiG>
heh!
<dRbiG>
