<buffalo> I'm trying to get follow alerts for twitch... The code works without the cinch part...
<buffalo> I keep getting: undefined local variable or method `latestfollower'
<buffalo> it probably is only a little error but I can't find it
<dominikh> where in that code would "latestfollower" magically come from?
<dominikh> there's not a single definition of it in that code
<buffalo> same error
<dominikh> you need at least constants. what you have now are instance variables living in the wrong scope
<buffalo> hmmm
<dominikh> and of course you can't set constants; what you want are probably instance variables in the plugin :)
<dominikh> (also, when I said instance variables the first time, I obviously meant local variables)
<buffalo> :)
<buffalo> thanks

<leftylink> what is proper etiquette for asking a gem maintainer "could you please bump version and release", I haven't really done this before
<leftylink> oh... I evern realized thta could be applicable for this channel except I am not really hankering for a release on cinch cuz I just am on master on git
<leftylink> then again by the same argument you could say I'm not really hankering for a release on the other gem since I could just use master
<leftylink> eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
