<kroylar>
that explains the problem. But this problem also shows up if I turn off the TV manually. When I turn it back on it is still blank.
<rneese>
it might not be the driver it might be the tv
<rneese>
on my tv the older mali driver gave issues
<rneese>
like with the odroid x2 I had issues but the min I moved to the cubie and the newer kernel and driver the issue stopped
<rneese>
but it was over driving the tv dvi port and the port would black out
<rneese>
had to turn off and on the tv a few times to get the image back
<rneese>
have you updated to a newer kernel ?

hi, just bought cubietruck. everything in the built-in android with 1920x1080 monitor are too large. fonts are large. images/fonts in apps are large. images/fonts in browser are large. it's kinda not usable. I did change the font size to small and screen resolution to 1920x1080. no help. can anyone help on this please? thanks.

ccaione, cool. thanks a lot for your voice. why is there nothing to say? I just asked a question. I keep asking different questions here for three days. never get an answer.

<ccaione>
this probably means that: (1) nobody has an answer (2) you are asking in the wrong place
<sgo11>
ccaione, ok, then. I will wait if someone can give me an answer then. by the way, what is the right time for this channel? which timezone? thanks.
<ccaione>
mainly european timezones I guess
<sgo11>
ccaione, thanks. that means it's morning time now. :)
<ccaione>
yep :)

ccaione, thanks a lot for your reply. hopefully, somebody can answer my question later... seriously, i keep asking different questions for three days. this channel does not help at all. thanks.
<ccaione>
sgo11: for linux-related questions better ask in #linux-sunxi
<sgo11>
ccaione, I never know that. cubieboard.org does not mention it at all. thanks a lot for this info. :)
<ccaione>
just avoid to ask anything about android there ;)
<sgo11>
ccaione, I did try #android-sunxi. the channel does not exist. :)

Timing buffered disk reads: 370 MB in 3.01 seconds = 122.91 MB/sec
<Night-Shade>
/dev/sda:
<hankur>
wow
<hankur>
that is from an ssd?
<Night-Shade>
that's an ssd
<hankur>
hmm the thing is I likely need to conserve power. so if I can manage I will go with the NAND
<hankur>
but I will see. first get one in my hands
<Night-Shade>
mine runs off a usb port on my desktop
<Night-Shade>
with the ssd without problems
<Night-Shade>
so in theory it's only pulling 5v / 500mA
<hankur>
yeah, I will have to check it out
<hankur>
the problem is, there will be power cuts
<hankur>
and I need to be able to run it from a car battery or the like for as long as possible
<hankur>
I want to use it for a project in mozambique, with some gsm modems attached, as sms gateway
kivutar has quit [Quit: Ex-Chat]
<Night-Shade>
it might be over kill for that
<Night-Shade>
I have another embedded device a tp-link wr703n
<Night-Shade>
that runs for about 3 days off a usb battery
<Night-Shade>
much lower power then a cubie
<Night-Shade>
but works as an AP / gsm gateway
<hankur>
yeah but it is also a django website with database plus kannel, e.g. raspberry was way too slow and flakey for my taste
<Night-Shade>
definately
<hankur>
hmm yeah I am not really pleased with the location they want to put that in. If it was going my way, plug it in some datacenter in a bigger city
<hankur>
so power is less of a concern
<Night-Shade>
there is plenty of power in a car battery at least
<hankur>
because I also have to sustain 3 gsm modems (one for each provider)
<Night-Shade>
wow that's more tricky
<hankur>
they draw ~40mA @12V
<hankur>
each..
<hankur>
I think it is a bad idea to put that in a place where you have two powercuts a day ;)
