<rellla>
Norman: if you ask your question, maybe someone can help you. without question - nobody can.
<Norman>
i have a 7" touchscreen with 1024x600 but i cant cange to this resoution
<Norman>
and the usb controller for touch are not working on cubian x1
<Norman>
i see only the middel of the screen on 1280x720

this is the one that i have, but i had not the time to bring it up yet.
<Norman>
me tee
<Norman>
too
<rellla>
did you try the different resolutions in script.bin? doesn't the display scale? there is no special 1024*600 in script.fex afaik
<Norman>
i use the xrandr to set the display
<Norman>
when i try it with xrander --output default --mode 1024x600_60.00 then it say only configure crtc 0 faild
<rellla>
i don't know anything about xrandr
<rellla>
but you should try the different resolutions without X and look if/how the display can handle them. https://github.com/mittorn/a10disp will help you to easily switch between them.
<rellla>
try fitting the console first. everything else should be a X related problem then.
<Norman>
ok i try it later with it first i must look how i stop the x from cubian x1
<rellla>
and try to use EDID of the display, to show how it identifies itself. look into dmesg and search for EDID

with this i can see all the screen root@cubietruck:~/a10disp/bin# ./a10disp --skip-size-check changehdmimodeforce 2 7 sunxi disp kernel module version is 1.0 Setting console framebuffer resolution to 1280 x 1024. Mode has been changed to 1280x1024 60 Hz (27), 32 bpp.
<Norman>
but its a 4:3 and i must force it with a10disp

<Norman>
with windows it works fine on 1280x720 ..... -.-
<Norman>
but it recommends 1360x768
<Norman>
it looks good too .... on it
<Norman>
why cant linux make this ......
<Norman>
i think thats a pro os for coders or so .... but windows are better :/
<Norman>
only the slow raspian pi can handle this with working touch :/

<rellla>
Norman: it's no linux problem in general.
<rellla>
Norman: when your kernel parameters in boot.scr are set right, then you don't need to force it with a10disp during runtime.
<rellla>
i doubt that it is possible, to let the soc output a native resolution of 1024x600 ...
<Norman>
root@cubietruck:~/a10disp/bin# ./a10disp switchtolcd sunxi disp kernel module version is 1.0 Setting console framebuffer resolution to 1024 x 600. root@cubietruck:~/a10disp/bin#
