<d1b2> <sarea> hey guys, is there a good example or explanation somewhere for what the I2C registers can be used?
<electronic_eel> @sarea: you mean the registers in gateware, that are accessed via i2c?
<electronic_eel> they are used for out-of-band communication and configuration
<electronic_eel> for example the uart applet uses them to set the baud rate and check for frame errors
<d1b2> <sarea> ah, ok, so i can change for example the baud rate during operation by using device.write registers?
<electronic_eel> yes, you could do that. but usually it is the job of the python side of an applet to do that (and maybe expose the functions), not something the user calles from somewhere else
<electronic_eel> because how the registers are set up is not something that is considered a stable api
<d1b2> <sarea> ok! thanks for the clarification 🙂
