<frank0051>
someone needs to use their tips and buy through this giant order killing us on C-CEX
<frank0051>
selling like 63K GRCs at cut-rate prices, craziness
<tr0nic>
@Hooker63 moment...
<tr0nic>
what frank0051???
<frank0051>
Look at the
<tr0nic>
which prizes
<frank0051>
Buy GRC for USD
<frank0051>
0.0084999
<tr0nic>
i am not registered on c-cex only poloniex and always holding around 1400-1550 satoshi
<tr0nic>
s
<tr0nic>
??? in btc please
<frank0051>
they have a seperate market for GRC to bitcoin
<frank0051>
I think it works out to roughly 0.2394 Bitcoin for 13299.48880162
<frank0051>
And .9 bitcoin for 49922.46658542
<tr0nic>
okay when i am calculating 132999 through 0.2394 BTC its 1800 satoshis
<tr0nic>
and the other is 1802 sat
<tr0nic>
this is much more than its sold on Poloniex
<frank0051>
These are the biggest sized orders I seen in the last couple of weeks on C-CEX
<frank0051>
And the lowest persistent prices
<tr0nic>
i wouldn't nevermind on that cause today (till morning hours) bitcoin did a huge rise
<frank0051>
Usually you're selling around .01 or .012
<tr0nic>
and with that rise all the other alts drop on worth
<frank0051>
So this dude is selling at a 20-30% drop
<tr0nic>
these are panic sellers frank0051
<tr0nic>
don't rely on those
<tr0nic>
if you can buy them up
<frank0051>
Yeah, it's thin behind those, the next price is 49922.46658542
<tr0nic>
but i saw a lot of price drops and highs
<frank0051>
Oops, sorry, 49922.46658542
<frank0051>
Damnit, won't copy
<frank0051>
The next price behind the .008499 is .0185
<tr0nic>
please give me the price in satoshis (BTC) - how its traded
<frank0051>
Again, it's a separate market - no point in translating

<m1sterlurk>
Yeah, getting a new router from a friend that will actually let me set static ips instead of giving the illusion of doing so
<tr0nic>
the prices vary from 0,00001468 - 0,00002000
<frank0051>
I don't like Polonix at all
<fkinglag>
how come frank0051?
<tr0nic>
@frank0051 i calculated that its 1800 satoshis
<tr0nic>
thats "much" more as on the marktes
<frank0051>
Just don't - spread is too thin
<tr0nic>
why so upset?
<tr0nic>
...as on the other marktes...
<frank0051>
Spread is too thin on Poloniex
<frank0051>
To give you an idea, I was able to turn 69 GRCs into nearly 600 GRCs (9x increase) on C-CEX in a month and a half with with only 5 sell trades
<tr0nic>
okay - i tell u something
<fkinglag>
lol
<tr0nic>
i don't trade with GRC
<tr0nic>
i hold them on a lloooooong investment
<tr0nic>
i trade ETHereum or all the other shit
<tr0nic>
and when i get some profit i'll invest that in GRC to imporve it
<fkinglag>
it is easier to increase funds with lower risk amounts like that frank0051
<fkinglag>
your funds will get eaten up by the exchanges over time
<frank0051>
Nope, that was pure profit my man
<tr0nic>
and if you are trading with GRC you are taking funds out of it
<frank0051>
I cannot get anywhere with Poloniex because the spread is too thin
<fkinglag>
I like buying it up on polo
<fkinglag>
typically cheaper than other exchanges
<tr0nic>
i only trade high volume coins
<frank0051>
I took whopping 69 coins out of my wallet and sent it to C-CEX and made an extra 540 in a month in a half on 5 sell trades
<frank0051>
No way you could do that on Poloniex
<tr0nic>
? how u did that
<fkinglag>
not everyday
<frank0051>
I told you, literally just 5 sell trades across a month and a half
<frank0051>
It's basic the spread is big
<tr0nic>
ah i got u
<frank0051>
So you just wait a while for your stuff to sell at a good price and then buy at a good price
<tr0nic>
sure
<frank0051>
I've been trying with 100 GRCs on Poloniex and just keep getting eaten up because the spread is too freakin' small
<tr0nic>
i am a daytrader
<frank0051>
yeah, I ain't got that type of time
* fkinglag
buys up ur cheap GRC
<frank0051>
Neurominer was doing that though
<frank0051>
He made like 400 USDs in a week from trading GRCs
<tr0nic>
did you recogniced the hype for ETH and Lisk in the last weeks/days?
<fkinglag>
idk about that frank0051, neuralminer has a ton of hosts for mining
<frank0051>
yeah, I think it was him that was telling me about the trading - pretty sure it was him anyways, but someone did tell me
<frank0051>
And no, didn't see the ETH and Lisk, just don't have the time to pay attention to that - at work 10-12 hours a day
<fkinglag>
he does trade but not often if the markets aren't good for it
<frank0051>
but hey, more power to you for being able to do that
<tr0nic>
yes i remember Neurominer - i told him the same that if he truly wants to invest in GRC he should stop that hedging
<frank0051>
Haven't seen him recently
<tr0nic>
cause this takes out a lot of money
<fkinglag>
tr0nic is hedging when you trim/turn your interest into profit margins?

Hi everyone! I've been trying to set up Gridcoin mining, but it seems that a lot of my projects are using different CPIDs. I'm using BAM, mining solo.
<AcridSmoke>
Tried reinstalling everything twice now, no luck :(
<m1sterlurk>
BAM?
<vega30000>
bam.boincstats
<m1sterlurk>
oic....sorry I can't be of much use. I'm pool mining myself
<AcridSmoke>
BOINC Account Manager
<m1sterlurk>
trying to think here
<AcridSmoke>
I was pool mining earlier, but for some reason my BOINC client gets all mucked up with pool.gridcoin.co as the account manager
<m1sterlurk>
I don't think the wallet would be tied to you getting multiple different CPIDs
<m1sterlurk>
but I wouldn't know. I have 7 different CPIDs because I'm running a desktop and 6 Raspberry Pis
arunpyasi has joined #gridcoin
<AcridSmoke>
If I have 2 PCs running the same project, will they have the same CPID?
arunpyasi has quit [Client Quit]
<m1sterlurk>
no. 2 different computers will have different CPIDs
<AcridSmoke>
Right now BAM shows different CPIDs for my account, my desktop and my laptop...
<AcridSmoke>
okay, so I should have 2 CPIDs only
<AcridSmoke>
one for my desktop and one for my laptop, right?
<m1sterlurk>
right...unless for some reason your wallet qualifies as another CPID. You'd need to ask another solo-staker about that one
<m1sterlurk>
but yeah, separate CPIDs for your desktop and laptop are totally normal
<AcridSmoke>
My wallet is stuck in investor mode...
<m1sterlurk>
I think that may be normal. I'm able to move funds to and from mine freely even though it's listed as INVESTOR
<AcridSmoke>
It's normal for pool mining I think
<AcridSmoke>
But not for solo
k0r3 has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<m1sterlurk>
oh, have you gone into gridcoinresearch.conf?
<m1sterlurk>
if not, you have to set some stuff manually in there. /user/USER/AppData/Roaming/GridcoinResearch/gridcoinresearch.conf
<AcridSmoke>
Tell me what to edit
<AcridSmoke>
Should I close the wallet first?
<m1sterlurk>
yes, go ahead and close that
<m1sterlurk>
you'll want to change the e-mail to whatever e-mail you're using as a solominer, and I think you'll want to set PrimaryCPID= to your CPID and not "INVESTOR"
<AcridSmoke>
Okay, it's open
<AcridSmoke>
That's the problem, what IS my CPID?
<Gunde>
Start with adding correct bamaccount in boinc is it "AcridSmoke" at BAM?
<AcridSmoke>
I have like 6-7 CPIDs it seems
<AcridSmoke>
yup
<m1sterlurk>
hrm....
<Gunde>
f83970a0f3c0cf27a70c4d11eb4fb91c is your CPID
<Gunde>
should use that
<AcridSmoke>
Can you tell me the syntax please?
<AcridSmoke>
That's my POEM@home cpid
<AcridSmoke>
should I run with that then?
<Gunde>
Wallet and Boinc manager will detect this CPID from mail you use
<Gunde>
Yes
<Gunde>
start with poem delete all other pool account in boinc
<Gunde>
resync boinc manager so it will detect thos project that has been added in BAM
<AcridSmoke>
Okay, so I'll close everything first
<AcridSmoke>
then edit cpid in wallet
<AcridSmoke>
then run wallet
<Gunde>
Go then to BAM website and pick those project you whant
<AcridSmoke>
and then delete all projects in boinc and re-add?
<Gunde>
never try force change CPID in conf
<AcridSmoke>
I did the delete pool projects part
<Gunde>
wallet will handle CPID for you
<AcridSmoke>
okay, so where do I enter the CPID then?
<Gunde>
it will keep change it, It use your mail to detect CPID
<Gunde>
never enter CPID use correct mail in conf only
<AcridSmoke>
Sorry, I'm a little lost now
<AcridSmoke>
okay, that part I got
<AcridSmoke>
not changing cpid in conf file
<AcridSmoke>
Now, I should close everything down and re-add boinc projects?
<Gunde>
yes
<Gunde>
start boic manager first, we need to add project
<Gunde>
You have POEM and seti connected to that bam account
<AcridSmoke>
Poem yes, seti idk
<Gunde>
so to get more just add and when you get task any false cpid will change and you will end up with only one CPID. It will be f83970a0f3c0cf27a70c4d11eb4fb91c.
<AcridSmoke>
I've detached all hosts in boinc
<AcridSmoke>
in BAM*
<Gunde>
ok you whant attach the host you have wallet on
<Gunde>
and add then project at website
<AcridSmoke>
add the project from BAM or from boinc?
<Gunde>
add first in website
<AcridSmoke>
the individual website for the project?
<AcridSmoke>
or the BAM website?
<Gunde>
BAM website
<AcridSmoke>
So I have to attach POEM@home to my desktop?
<AcridSmoke>
My desktop is running my wallet
<Gunde>
yes
<Gunde>
resync boinc manager
<AcridSmoke>
done
<AcridSmoke>
account is acridsmoke, team is gridcoin
<Gunde>
keep adding project you whant
<Gunde>
good
<AcridSmoke>
shows work done as well
<Gunde>
need to run task to get minimum of avg RAC 300
<AcridSmoke>
now how can I get my wallet out of investor mode?
<AcridSmoke>
my avg RAC is 543
<AcridSmoke>
with Poem@home
<Gunde>
this could take a few hours so now leave boinc manager running
<Gunde>
good
<Gunde>
in wallet do you nopw have same mail?
<AcridSmoke>
yep
<Gunde>
good
<Gunde>
go to console
<Gunde>
do "execute resetcpids"
<AcridSmoke>
roger that, just a sec
<AcridSmoke>
booting up wallet
<Dashaiva>
hang on
<Gunde>
Then you can do "list cpids" and compare which cpid it detected
<Dashaiva>
dude, sounds like you need to "execute resetcpids"
<Dashaiva>
in the debug in the wallet
<AcridSmoke>
I did that earlier, didn't work. Gimme a sec, I've added only one project now, which has RAC, and will do the reset cpids thing again
<Dashaiva>
then pull up your different accounts and see what cpid is listed
<AcridSmoke>
It's a mess
<Dashaiva>
otherwise all your credit are going to different cpids
<AcridSmoke>
that is what has been happening
<AcridSmoke>
probably
<Gunde>
yea
<AcridSmoke>
No use worrying about it, al least it got used for research instead of useless hashes
<Dashaiva>
Don't depend on the neural network, look up your profile in each project and see what it says
<Gunde>
It will sort out in time but could take 1-2 days to get info right
<AcridSmoke>
list cpids gives only one project in wallet now
<Dashaiva>
Gunde my cpidreset sorted things in minutes
<Dashaiva>
forget the wallet
<AcridSmoke>
with that cpid Gunde mentioned
<Dashaiva>
check your cpids in EACH project
<AcridSmoke>
I will
<Gunde>
Dashaiva: yes it can IF boinc system hands out correct info to Gridcoin system
<AcridSmoke>
I only have around 10-15 mins more, gotta go then
<AcridSmoke>
okay so right now let's assume I'm only running poem at home
<AcridSmoke>
I should advertise a beacon now?
<Gunde>
If boinc system hands out diffrent cpids to same account this will take time
<Dashaiva>
The reset will be reflected in the project pages immediately, but not in the wallet until the next sync or block or whatever
<Gunde>
it will change when you running task
<AcridSmoke>
Yup, I think I'll attach one project at a time and go slow
<m1sterlurk>
I'm going to bed now. ttyl
<AcridSmoke>
so first things first, should I advertise a beacon now?
<AcridSmoke>
Thanks m1ster!
<Dashaiva>
Sort your cpids first
<Dashaiva>
Otherwise credit is going to a bunch of different places
<AcridSmoke>
I'm not running the other projects
<Dashaiva>
And you'll never stake or get PoR or PoS
<AcridSmoke>
so no worries
<AcridSmoke>
I'll only run them after I fix their CPIDs
m1sterlurk has quit [Quit: leaving]

you use BitSquare yet customminer?

it's really interesting, I think the longer you leave it open the more trades it can find
<fkinglag>
there currently are no Gridcoin bids/offers
<fkinglag>
I'd like to change that but the security deposit fee is 0.01 BTC and I haven't funded the wallet yet
<fkinglag>
security deposit per trade is 0.01 BTC
<fkinglag>
got to take that into account for every order >.>

<customminer>
On one hand, it's a cool outreach, on the other hand steem is 80% premined, held and issued by a central issuing authority.
<customminer>
So perhaps I have a conflict of interest considering I hold BTS.
<DeviantOne>
True.. you could be a mole
<DeviantOne>
lol
<DeviantOne>
a corraborator
<DeviantOne>
Just stuck me as one of those rare 3rd party posts that actually didn't stink of scam, or self agrandizing, or bs.
<RTMoney_>
Looks to me like an attempt to get attention for their coin by association
<customminer>
Indeed, going directly to bitsharestalk would be more appropriate for bridging community gaps between BTS <-> GRC. The 'DEX' they mention is BTS.
<RTMoney_>
But I'm a skeptic, so could be legit, just my fist impression
<DeviantOne>
I am too
<DeviantOne>
I considered the guy wanting to just pump his post with upvotes
<DeviantOne>
e.g. finanacial gain
<DeviantOne>
but as you said, ultimately its marketing

I think DAO was a genius way to pump ETH without people understanding that's what was really going on too
<DeviantOne>
for them.. and GRC. But I'm guessing disproportiantely to them
<RTMoney_>
Dao can vaporize/implode and ETH maintains its market cap and doesn't get any of the stench on it
<DeviantOne>
I think some major corporations think like you are..
<spassbold>
They are looking for ideas regarding dacs
<DeviantOne>
Follwed as some jumped on
<DeviantOne>
then evaluated it more.. found it too immature
<DeviantOne>
and jumped back off
<DeviantOne>
yup and still haven't really found a compelling DAC
<spassbold>
Using gridcoin to get free computing power for whitelisted projects might be interesting for them
<DeviantOne>
as far as I understand
<fkinglag>
RTMoney_ exactly
<fkinglag>
they're held up by one another
<customminer>
spassbold: I think the custom beacon/project rain would appeal to their user issued asset functionality on BTS.
<customminer>
or are you talking about ETH?
<fkinglag>
meanwhile it pumps new blood into crypto
<spassbold>
The dao right now
<DeviantOne>

<DeviantOne>
I'm generally for pumping new blood into crypto.

Hey guys
<customminer>
hey AcridSmoke
<AcridSmoke>
I've got a question
<customminer>
fire away
<AcridSmoke>
I have an Nvidia GTX 770
<AcridSmoke>
and an i5
<AcridSmoke>
and I can't decide which projects to take up
<AcridSmoke>
i5-3450 3.1Ghz
<AcridSmoke>
8GB RAM
<RTMoney_>
Btc to buy eth, destroy eth to make dao, sell dao for btc... huge make cap vacuum out of btc into eth
<fkinglag>
lol
<RTMoney_>
*market
<fkinglag>
well BTC does have billions in the market cap to suck up
<fkinglag>
meanwhile new blood will get burned when the huge wallet holders dump their coins
<RTMoney_>
Seriously a lot of people are going to et burned on that one
<fkinglag>
yes.. and they will learn to diversify or suffer
<RTMoney_>
It would be nice if we could suck 100 million in market cap like that
<spassbold>
We have Great opportunity for dacs
<AcridSmoke>
also have an android phone and a laptop, would rather run cpu-only stuff on them though
<fkinglag>
haha it could be nice but in due time GRC will pickup a higher market cap
<spassbold>
Eth has high market cap and is desperately looking to create a killer dac
<AcridSmoke>
any suggestions?
<spassbold>
If it would somehow involve a whitelisted gridcoin project that does work for them this would be great
<AcridSmoke>
that's what I can't decide
<spassbold>
Cant get more autonomous than that
<AcridSmoke>
oops, sorry...that wasn't for me then -_-'
<spassbold>
Sorry no
<AcridSmoke>
okay so....anyone? Which projects would be good?

<AcridSmoke>
any biology-centric projects?
<AcridSmoke>
those would be my first preference
<RTMoney_>
AcridSmoke: world community grid, Rosetta @home
<RTMoney_>
Shows up false for me, I probably still have something going on with my server code... someday I will refactor and stop putting bandaids on everything
<AcridSmoke>
okay, is rosetta@home good for cpu?
<AcridSmoke>
and how about poem@home vs gpugrid for gpu?
<RTMoney_>
Don't run them so can't say for sure, sorry

8 core xeon ~250w

I could just go to a hardware store for building my enclosures for the cluster
<RTMoney_>
These were built for low power consumption, and companies get rid of them with a lot of useful life left
<fkinglag>
that's the developmental/upgrade cycle for ya
<fkinglag>
not sure if I can find any better deal on a SoC other than the OrangePi series
<fkinglag>
I do like the idea of dual socket xeons

although the SoC approach is more efficient by-far
