<wumpus> hste: I have the same problem with wifi, copied the firmware, I can find the network and get to auth handshake 2 or so in wpa-supplicant, and after that it suddenly goes deaf
<wumpus> after reloading the kernel driver I can repeat it, fails at the same point
<wumpus> I use the kernel branch imx_3.0.35_4.0.0-gk802 from mtx512
<hste> wumpus: same as I had problems with wifi
<wumpus> and arm eabi (softfp, I think) ubunto oneiric rootfs from freescale
<wumpus> where did you find a hardfp rootfs?
<hste> wumpus: I think its in the kernel driver independent of rootfs(softfp, hardfp) I also saw it loaded a bunch of wifirelated modules on the 4.0.0 and not only one as with the old kernel
<wumpus> I wonder what causes the wifi issue, it seems like a driver of firmware issue, but I was not able to find any alternative firmware versions for it
<wumpus> yes it's a kernel and not rootfs issue, so much is certain I think, I had more luck with an external wifi dongle
<wumpus> the old kernel had no need for external firmware
<wumpus> at least, I did not find anything in /lib/firmware/rtlwifi in my old image
<hste> wumpus: I use usb ethernet dongle
<wumpus> so porting over the old kernel driver, if possible, might solve it
<wumpus> yes that's even better
<hste> wumpus: I think so
<hste> wumpus: starting to test etnaviv on gk802?
<hste> wumpus: sorry I pointed to wrong rootfs. Its http://stende.no-ip.info/jas/linaro_12_11_hf-1.1.0.tar.gz thats armhf
<hste> wumpus: and you have to remove xorg.conf to get X start with plain and not vivante as the armhf for vivante is not for 4.0.0 kernel
<wumpus> yes, I'd like to have basic support for gc2000 on the gk802 asap, even if it doesn't use all the features
<hste> wumpus: guess a lot on wandboard quad etc wants that too:)
<wumpus> hehe that's the cost of living on the bleeding edge, I still have my old rootfs around in case I want to test with vivante drivers
<wumpus> vivante broke their kernel interface once again with bsp 4.0.0, they're not a fan of stable kernel interfaces
<hste> the 4.0.0 jas has still some issues, I think usb is a bit laggy on it, but the vivante/gpu is running smoother on 4.0.0 when running the gpu tests
<wumpus> great
<wumpus> hopefully they'll release a hardfp driver for 4.0.0 soon
<hste> I think they have it in yocto master-next
<hste> wumpus: from mailing list : The 3.5.7 GPU code works with Xorg 1.14.
<wumpus> okay, thanks
