<wumpus> akaizen: you mean on the gk802? yes, it is
<akaizen> wumpus: awesome, which repo should i look at?
<akaizen> also for android, linux or both?
<wumpus> I don't know the specifics
<wumpus> the pre-installed android likely uses it
<wumpus> but the linux-imx kernel for the gk802 also allows access to it
<wumpus> of course you need the userspace components as well
<akaizen> I think most of the userspace stuff is availble on freescale.com?
<akaizen> Does the android and linux SDK work with the gk802?
<wumpus> yes, the freescale userspace/bsp works with gk802, you just need a custom kernel (as I linked above)

<abrasive> do they have a hardfloat one out yet?
<wumpus> well the vpu userspace stuff is open source (except for the firmware) so you should be able to build it for hf
<wumpus> only the gpu requires binary blobs
<abrasive> oh, great
<akaizen> Yea, not sure why the gk802 is not more popular, tons of documentation from freescale...
<projectgus> akaizen: i think because it's comparatively expensive
<projectgus> which I think is a shame (that it's not more popular regardless)
<akaizen> Ah the $42/chip price vs like $12 for Rockchip or Allwinner?
<akaizen> but when you buy them in small scales the price is about the same, around ~80 for RK3188 (quad) or gk802
<wumpus> and regarding the gpu, we're working on that :-)

<akaizen> Is there an bugtracker or something where all the devs are collaborating?
<akaizen> I'm working on a project that needs VPU decoding and I think the gk802 might be the way to go
<akaizen> Trying to get them from Allwinner is painfully slow, even more so from Rockchip...
<wumpus> there's an imx6 dongle mailing list, but afaik it doesn't see very much traffic
<akaizen> yep read all those earlier today
<wumpus> well then you've probably seen all
<wumpus> also be sure to read jas' blog http://jas-hacks.blogspot.nl/
