<newbie_GK802> hello guys, I got the GK802 and installed Debian into it. Thought that lm-sensors will work and I will be able to see the CPU temperature, but I just get "Sorry, no sensors were detected." message
hste has quit [Ping timeout: 245 seconds]
<newbie_GK802> Is there some way to see what is the temperature of CPU from command line?
<projectgus> newbie_GK802: cat /sys/class/thermal/somethingiforget
<projectgus> it's there somewhere though :)
<newbie_GK802> cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
<newbie_GK802> could this be the right one?
<newbie_GK802> thanks, projectgus
<projectgus> that looks right :)

<newbie_GK802> projectgus: I used your debian_installer to install the system to GK802, so now I apply to you: I have no experience in kernel building, but want some changes in kernel
<newbie_GK802> I want to enable lxc on my device
<newbie_GK802> and lxc requires namespaces and cgroup enabled
<newbie_GK802> could you build the kernel with these options enabled?
<newbie_GK802> here is the complete list of requirements of the kernel
alex_kag has joined #imx6-dongle
<abrasive> I suggest you give building a kernel a go
<abrasive> it's not difficult to learn.
<abrasive> and you will find it useful
<newbie_GK802> could you give me some clues, how do I do that :)
<abrasive> you can install a compiler on your gk802, save yourself the trouble of cross compiling.
<abrasive> change into its dir and do "zcat /proc/config.gz > .config" to get the initial configuration from your running system
<abrasive> then make menuconfig to change whatever it is you wanted to
<abrasive> then 'make uImage', from memory, will generate you a uboot-formatted kernel image
<abrasive> plenty of documentation out there if you get stuck. bbl
<newbie_GK802> thanks, I'll give it a try

<newbie_GK802> is it safe to use such kernel? :)

<newbie_GK802> or should I change something before continuing?
<abrasive> nah, that's fine.
<newbie_GK802> and now when I have the uImage, I place it to /boot/ directory and change the zImage link to the new uImage ?
<newbie_GK802> or is it the zImage that is built, that I have to use?
eebrah is now known as eebrah|away
<abrasive> er... if your u-boot is set up to boot from a zImage then you should make a new zImage
<abrasive> not a uImage
<newbie_GK802> "make uImage" created zImage also
<newbie_GK802> so I guess I can use it
<abrasive> yep.

<newbie_GK802> ok, then I try the reboot :)
<abrasive> good luck :)
<newbie_GK802> something went wrong, I can't connect to the device through ssh anymore :( and I'm at work now, so will have to wait for the evening :)
