<kares[m]> headius: actually *OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM 13.0.1+9* is back in the picture
<kares[m]> they improved and while 11 is still worse than 8, 13 outperforms Java 8 by around 30%
<kares[m]> so that is well done from the OpenJDK team!
<kares[m]> enebo: it seemed disabled atm (probably since some previous changes)
<kares[m]> so I left it as is
<kares[m]> the check to disable backtrace is only present in one legacy (Java RaiseException) path
<kares[m]> this is all left as was in the PR

<enebo[m]> kares: ah I have not read your PR yet :) This is only for JI I guess.
<kares[m]> enebo: nope not only for JI ... but fixed some JI stuff as well
<kares[m]> I mean not JI really but native ext stuff - mostly legacy RaiseException creation
<enebo[m]> cool. I did read the numbers :) Those look good. I also saw you implied rack raises somewhere right?
<kares[m]> just added some comment on the deprecated method being used ... by jruby-rack

<headius[m]> <kares[m] "just added some comment on the d"> kares yeah, that matches my experience with Java 13 as well. I just meant we can't expect many users to be on Java 13, so my workarounds are still necessary
<headius[m]> Oops, not in reply to that
<headius[m]> I wish the openjdk folks were as aggressive about backporting as the open j9 folks
<headius[m]> It would sure be nice to see a Java 11 update with those stack walker improvements
